Why Buy Resistance 2?

As many have already noted, Mech hardpoints and tonnages are getting crowded to the point of differences becoming very nonexistent. I'm left wondering why exactly buy Resistance 2? There doesn't seem to be a lot of new variety.
This isn't a complaint; I'm genuinely interested in hearing your thoughts. Why did you spend real money on Resistance 2?

Reasons for buying Resistance 2 could be:
Nostalgia
Extra money
Owning a few mechs
Collectible aspect.

Really, at this point, it's because it has a mech you like and you don't have to wait for the free version, and you want a C-Bill boost tied to it, and you like trinkets for the cockpit, and extra premium time, and mechbays...phew.
Something like that I suppose.

4 bays + 30 days premium comes to 3700 MC.
I feel the remaining cost is probably worth the 12 million c-bills saved plus the 30% boost.

2. I find these mech packages are the biggest bang for your buck. You get premium time, hero mech equivalents, mechbays, colors and other accessories. It makes it far less likely that I'll want to buy these things individually.
3. Meta-compliant.
4. Now the irresistible bonus mechs.

1. The Wolfhound. If it is anything similar to the Panther, I'll have a ball with it. The Panther is one of my favorite mechs in game.
2. The Black Knight looks AMAZING from the concept art. I really hope it looks like the concept art. I am crossing my fingers it looks like the concept art. Oh, and hard points seem decent (if not a tad bit low).
Those are the main reasons. I don't like the crab as much as some. Art wise it looks like Stalker feces that grew legs and waddled off. Most of my Mediums are ballistic oriented I suppose (other than the sad Vindicators and my Swayback), so a good energy one might be OK.

As the number was recently lowered, I am no longer as tempted to buy so many Crabs.

If you arent sitting on a lot of mechs, premium time or cockpit doodads and you want some cheaper grinders for c-bills then this package is for you.

Really, unless you have a sentimental attachment to one of these chassis, there isn't a compelling reason to get R2. I think PGI is going to see that problem grow in the future - more of the same will lead to diminishing returns.
