Hello, I played this a long time ago. Infact when I patched it said last updated Sep. 2012. I was just wondering if there was a way to start over without just starting a new account. Id like to keep my name.

Contact support, they can help you keep your name.

Their is really no advantage to starting over with a new account other than gettting the cadet bonus for the first 25 drops again, and doing better in them than you did originally. Just play your existing account or you 'll lose all your mech xp,c -bills,modules etc.

if you have not played since September 2012 the game has been reset since you last played, I think the last reset was in October 2012 when it entered Open Beta.
you should still get the "cadet bonus", the only Mechs which will be in your account are Founders Mechs if you purchased them, so I do not think it would be worthwhile starting a new account as your original account should essentially be a fresh game account
