For those who believe they need a mech to be competitive indicates that you likely aren't a good pilot (or good at this game) ... and by good I mean I have watched warriors take builds of all types and use them effectively. Ones that others might say "that doesn't measure up to what's "best" and yet that warrior is still wrecking face with them."
Pilots drive the mechs, and not the other way around and I see that there are users and groups which won't be able to survive because they can't handle change. Life is change. Nothing stays static. All things mature or nature over time ... for those who can't handle it... HOW DO YOU LIVE?
The changes haven't even occurred yet and you are moaning as if they have brought hell on earth. Please, with the self titled histrionic behavior... get over yourselves.
Sorry, not sorry.
Normally, I would agree with you Daisu... however:
1: 15+ % is nothing to sneeze at. (Look what it did for the Stalker in the other direction.)
2: The Timber/SCR Meta was hardpressed to take on the TDR/STK Meta as it was... (Might I recommend you take whatever mechs you feel like, other than the laser meta) and take on -MS- in an organized Community Warfare match with TDR's, STK's, and FS9's.. I would like to see how far you get.)
2a: The pilots DO make the machines better or worse, however, the machine does also make the pilot. I'm pretty sure that if I stuck myself in my laser vomit TBR, and challenged Proton or one of the other top tier people in a stock TBR-Prime, that I would chew his face off. (Whereas normally, I understand that on even ground, I would likely be crushed.)
cLasers > cUACS > cLRMs, in just about all situations.
To think a team could bring just whatever the heck it wanted, and succeed against a team that brought the most optimized setup for the mechanics, and expect to win is silly.
The little engine that could, was just a story.

Your game, you spend your disposable cash on what you want, but don't whine about it after rushing out in a buying frenzy to "Get the newest bestest brightest" mechs when you KNOW you are going to complain about something related to your purchase.

I dont disagree...which is kinda why I actually came back after a long hiatus...I'm quietly hoping this is the only chance BT players will have to sieze the game from the mental midgets and actually get what we were promised...
I want faction specific techs and ammos and mechs and the entire game to be about planetary other than solaris battles (which are a totally valid career path that should grant bonuses to your house)
I want houses/clans to have the ability to research/build factories/build defenses/deploy more forces etc etc
I want Davion vs Kurita vs Liao vs Marik vs Steiner vs Rasalrats vs Jade Falcon vs Wolf vs CSJ vs CNC vs CGB etc etc etc
and if they did that ****...I'd be playing actively for years and putting money in to advance my clan (as you should only be able to advance yourself throught merit in the Clans...tho I hear tell the IS is slightly more whats the word...corrupt)

its more about the clans as a whole taking a nerf to balance for pre-invasion IS tech...and then while were at it lets nerf the 2 clan standouts (tho I laugh at that as a Direwolf pilot)

I have asked for a refund, presently I have 133 Mechs with 24 empty Mech bays. Have to many Mechs I never use, so I will wait and see if anything stands out and what gets nerfed. Then decide.

I personally see Clan laser duration quirks (might as well just call them nerfs at this point) as something directed mainly against Clan ERLLs. PGI already tried them once with 2s duration. 1.5 is already too long, IS ERLLs (especially on isERLL positively quirked mechs) will outtrade you.
I was honestly thinking about getting Clan Wave 3. Bought TBR A instead. Those high energy mounts (on TW!!!) were just too shinny, too irresistable.. Ok i could understand, 5% laser duration penalty. You dont want people to boat right "3" of them in those shinny high mounts. But its increasing by another 3% (which kinda hits LPL builds as well) and i see where this is going.
And i can see Clan wave 3 mechs having these "quirks" written all over it (especially Ebon Jaguar which, from all 4, i was looking forward to the most. Especially because of those shinny High Energy Hard Points). Of course the "nerfs" wont be implemented instantly. After few weeks, maybe months even after release. Once they fabricated decent ammount of money.
I'd rather close the perfromance-difference gap, between IS-C tech. Only minor "advantages/Disadvatages" between them.
But I certainly dont like the direction theese quirks are heading to, thus no further financial support of this game. And i mean it this time!

For me, it's not about winning or ROFLStomping people. MechWarrior is about playing Legos with your Mechs and then taking those builds out and running them for fun. I'm perpetually rebuilding my mechs which is why I'm always flat broke in-game, lol. Not being able to do that with my Clan Mechs is a huge disappoinment. Add to that the incessent nerfs, and you've got a watered down, tasteless product.
To bad this isn't a restaurant where I can just send the food back if it's not ready.

I am going to give it one more day and then I will just do a chargeback.

Because PGI has the same policy that many, many other online games have.
You chargeback, you get

I'm sure we'll be able to muddle along without you.
Double dare you.

Fully aware of that policy and do not care.
