Was just wondering when we'd get a summoner that doesn't have jump jets.

No such abomination exists, not should it. The jump jets are a defining characteristic of the Summoner. If you want one that doesn't jump, it's called a Hellbringer.

Summoner like Griffin is made to jump, should jump, and be good at jumping because it is a jumper. Anything less is an abomination...(needs to jump better but that isn't just the Summoner)

Probably can sell it as a new variant in the gift store as they are going to hit most energy builds with a big sledgehammer. I await the return of our the flying feathered friends (Flying Streakcrow Overlords).

It is called a Thor II or Grand Summoner and makes its debut in 3093. It has everything you want in a Summoner, Derek. Endo Steel, Ferro Fiberous, Clan XL, and pod mounted jump jets. It is, however, not the Summoner, but the child of the Summoner.

For all practical purposes, unless PGI loses all their senses and makes a time skip straight into BT's power creep hell era, a Summoner without jump jets is heresy of the highest order and should never be spoken of.

It's probably arrive when we get an Adder without the Flamer.

Endo would be more than sufficient

Summoner is fine as it is. One of my favourite mechs at the moment.

A good example of quirking done right to bring it just into the right side of viability. No comp meta min/maxer will ever use it but in Puglandia it's a great all-rounder and jolly good fun to drive.

SMN-PRIME

SMN-PRIME
My favorite heavy atm.

But if it had Endo, it could potentially have "serious" builds. Heck, TBH, if it had endo, All I'd do to the prime would be to add 1.5 tons of armor, and 2 tons LB-X ammo. I own 2 SMN-P, and the second one is run bone stock... and the only thing holding it back is how fast it runs out of ammo.

One thing I discovered is if you know how to twist, the stock armor on the SMN goes a looooong way. I'm usually out of ammo long before I am cored out.

Lets push for the general JJ rework first, and then the mech specific JJ quirks on mechs that are supposed to be more defined by them (Highlander, Summoner, etc). There's a reason the Summoner was so useful with its limited loadout (major mobility) and the term 'Highlander Burial' existed.

I recommend 2xUAC5 version with super quirked arm. Not the deadliest thing ever but tons of fun as you plow your way through enemy lines (definitely a tip of spear mech).
