When you're waiting for an opponent to drop on the planet you've selected in CW, you can see a picture of the planet, with red/blue segments around it indicating different battle zones.

It's my understanding that each zone is tied to a specific map. (They were previously randomised, but in a recent post I seem to recall Russ saying they are now in a set order again.)

Can anyone tell me the order of the segments? Ie which segment correlates to which map?

Thanks in advance of your help.

I'm pretty sure it's the order they were released in, but I don't know exactly what order the first two maps are in, I'd have to check.

Which, with 15 zones means you're 50% more likely to play the tiredest map!

At least it's the coldest map.

Well, equal chance with Sulfurous, one of the hottest. Frankly, I played those both so much in the early days...bleh.

By my count there are only 13 zones, so Boreal is the only map that has an increased chance...?

Doh. You're right. I was thinking 15!

It was changed from 15 to 13 as a nod to the fact that they forced you to fight over each square twice.

It's stupid, but that's what they did.

^^^

I keep that image handy on my laptop while playing CW for quick reference.

Also, 6 maps for 13 zones. Boreal Vault appears 3 times, all others appear twice. So you're slightly more likely to get Boreal. Fine by me. It's cold and has lots of long range. HURRAY for my poptart Blackjack and/or SadCat.

Well now that a unit that controls a planet can pay to add extra zones to a planet (making it harder to conquer) means that there can be up to 15 (or maybe more, don't remember exact count) still.

This is good to know. Now, if only they'd rework Grim Portico so that the map itself doesn't gimp long range mechs on the attacker side.....

I've seen one. Taiga is now the "bonus slot" map.

TO BE CLEAR: This changed in phase 3 and above images are now outdated.

What does PGI's reinforcements mean?
