Goofy quirks. That's why CW is dead, because organized teams bring the best quirked mechs and those are Inner Sphere. So CW is horribly lopsided now which is why the I.S. cues were so long for the Tukkiyad event.



And why since the reset, Clans havent even moved out of the starting positions, and are actually losing all the planets.

I think that something that most people are missing is that with the recent buffs the SCR-B's right arm is now really good.

.....yeah and whom exactly is going to give PGI money for it?

Only bought the Raven to Elite the 3L, but its grown on me as a sniper, pair of erll and an lrm5, I use the lrms most for pinpointing enemies with ams. Match me up with another Stalker or a Crab and we will lead the flank push down your line eating a couple of you at a time.
The 5M can boat energy or missile or dangerous combinations. It really doesn't need quirks to be potent. Mine has 1 erll 2 lrm10 and 3 lrm5, produced 900+ dmg matches regularly, though I haven't played it in months.
Never played the other 2 but they appear to be close to those already mentioned, they're Stalkers so...


Yeah, all stalkers are good really for two reasons. 1. High mounted hardpoints and 2. very slim CT hitbox so they can tank well with the first lost ST. That gives them a lot of "artificial" durability, while the can't equip an XL engine. Their strength is their weakness though, so in a pretty good place right now.

The big problem is that balance right now is dependent on hitboxes, or geometry/size/speed, or quirks to offset the clan XL advantage. Very convoluted and messy, making future general balancing, like weapon tuning, horrible....

I was expecting a nurfed to the Crows damn torso twisting ability sense its so mind bogglingly high, its much higher than any other mech in the game. It can twist farther and faster than any other mech, not to mention its rather skinny with horrible hit detection. Plus, the way the damage is transferred from destroyed sections to adjacent ones (Which all mechs have), when combined is what makes the thing so stupidly durable.

Reducing its torso twist range and speed would help out a lot. A small adjustment to hitbox size might be in order, and as for hit detection, well, that's not so much the fault of the mech as it is codeing.
Also a reduction in its arm actuators would be warranted sense it gives it even greater range.

Currently, at least once a day when I play I see a Crow being shot at from behind and to the left by an enemy or one of my guys, and the Crow is able to turn all the way around to the right and be able to shoot what ever it is that's shooting them.

Every time I see this I have to laugh. First reason being that it looks funny, like some giant contorting robo bird, and secondly because its absolutely crazy.

Agreed. The problem is that they nerfed the Laser vomit build much harder than for example the Gauss+2xLPL build. The latter is nerfed by 9% duration and cooldown, the former by 18-21% duration and cooldown. That makes all the difference.

If they had made it a blanket 10% nerf for all TBR and SCR chassi it would not have been a problem imo. Even better would have been to remove the agility quirk on the SCR, the 5% heat generation on the TBR, and settle for 5% duration and cooldown on both.

I will just adapt to whatever it settles on. As it looks now, Gauss+2xLPL (TBR) and Gauss+2xERLL (SCR) probably. The former is nerfed by 9%, the latter by 6%.

It's not even as bad as that. The lasers are nerfed 9% and 6%, the overall DPS for those builds are nerfed about 5.5% and 4% respectively.

I actually think that the nerfs are a fairly elegant method to force the top mechs away from using the top meta builds and promote diversification.

Well, I will have to try it, but I am not overly positive that they add another layer of laser-ghost-duration that adds duration the more you equip... kind of unintuitive to me atleast. I am not a laser vomit fan in any case, but well. It hurts laser vomit alpha, that much is certain.
