I guess, 19th May patchnotes were published by PGI so early only to find out, how many TBR-A refund requests they would collect, before reverting this stupid 40% overnerf? No. I won't request TBR-A to be refunded due to not seeing, where it's so OP to have all energy weapons nerfed by 20% and also lasers by another 20%, resulting in 40% nerf to lasers.

But this doesn't mean, I won't react anyhow at all. Prior to this patch I was going to invest money into following things:
1) Buy new Cataphract and Battlemaster variants for my collection.
2) Buy Mauler A'La Carte.
3) Buy Hellbringer A'La Carte.

No, PGI, you should know, that I decided not to do it due to TBR overnerf. I don't really see, where it's so OP to be nerfed. 6xCUAC5 DireWolf is OP, Quad Gauss DireWolf is OP, even my 2xGauss+PPC DireWolf is OP, but not TimberWolfs - may be they need slight nerf, but not 20%+20% overnerf, sorry - this is unreasonable nerf.

Crazy idea but lets see how it plays out for a couple of weeks after the nerfs before going off the deep end :)

Community warfare is having an interesting effect on balance. Unlike in assault/conquest/skirmish there is a major downside to bringing a Direwolf, it takes up too much tonnage, forcing you to bring less TBR/SCR/HBR. I think that may be why the Timberwolf and Stormcrow have been nerfed while the Direwolf hasn't.

The interesting thing about these nerfs is that they're entirely laser/energy focused. Maybe try running some missiles?

PGI want you to join the power creep and preorder Wave III, if you want to keep vomiting lasers without penalties. I guess they're not really selling TW for cash anymore since it's been out for CBills long enough, so this was the next logical step to boost sales on Wave III.

I'm not saying I'm against the nerfs though, because everyone and their mother know by now that TW laservomit is the main easy mode in MWO. But in a few months they're going to drop the new clanner which will of course be allowed to run free for months with little changes no matter how powerful they are, you know because people who paid money for them gotta have their months of enjoying the power creep.

Only because PGI can't be sure that a 65 ton Clan mech with Endo+FF and 8 energy hardpoints will need a laservomit nerf. They need to collect data for 6 months first, just like they're still waiting to see if the Hellbringer is actually any good :)

Funny how those 6 months pretty much coincide with the mechs being released for CBills, purely coincidence of course!

so they'll get nerfed too? no thanks.

that's all "balance" is anymore. they listen to who cries the loudest about what they think is popular, then the devs nerf it. rinse and repeat every few months.

well, i run only missiles on scr, i like streaks

i just see how they nerf streaks and srms again when their laser nerf forces people to use streaks more, and also i sympathize clan laser users

We will see more Gauss/Dual ER PPC and defintily more Streak and SRM Crows.
The ne nerfs only make matter worse. Worse it is based only on CW data, the other game modes work entirely different.

I'm running missiles on TBR-D, but TBR-A is dedicated energy-centric variant. And I just don't see logic here: nerf energy-centric variant for using intended type of weapons on it??? Give it 6 energy hardpoints only to take 20% (40% in case of lasers) away? Lol.

The ERPPC speed nerf hit it way too hard to make guys use ERPPCs in large numbers. They will probably go for gauss/2lpl to keep the penalty for using energy weapons at a minimum.

.... and i bet you that timberwolfs are still amazing mechs even with the nerfs...... so its going to reduce the amount of laser vomit alpha.... is this a bad thing, do people enjoy joining a game walking around a cornor and lossing an entire side of their mech before they can react?

the issue with nerfing and quirking (both IS and Clan) is some people take so much enjoyment out of building mech that spoil the experiance for other people that it has to happen. my builds wont be effected by the nerfs so im not to concerned, but imagine how many new players would be put off playing if they dropped in a game and were alphaed by a meta wolf or even a 6 LL stalker?

instead of Nerfing and Quirking i wish PGI would look at a better matchmaking system as i don't feel the current method (whatever it is a from experiance is cant be elo) as there is to many 1 sided games.

Which all the comp players use anyway, so the nerf doesn't really affect them anyway.

Only build it will hurt is 2lpl +4/5 ML vomit builds, and it actually makes them more heat efficient because of long durations.

Problem is with the fact, that not only lasers are being nerfed, but also all energy weapons. This is one of those cases, when you hurt ordinal builds, while trying to nerf extreme ones. I don't really care so much about lasers, cuz I only use them as support weapons anyway, but PPCs are nerfed too.

So, leave up to +10..15% laser duration, but energy CD negative quirks are just plain overnerf and should be removed!

Can someone link or explain how this 20% + 20% happens?
Are the nerfs additive ? 12% LT + 3% arm + 6% CT = 20% ???
Just asking for clarification.

Also longer duration = better cooling?? LMAO More like less damage on target and more shots for equal damage = hotter mech.
