As long as the custom geometry, camo and colors on the (P) variants for this were the same as they were for wave 1, I'd be okay if they did it like this.
They can't do it like that. As I and several others have stated numerous times in this thread, the custom geometry of the existing (P) 'mechs is exactly what they cannot use again for a new pack.
Where else could so many of us, non-lawyers, argue so vehemently, and with such authority, over what the law does, or does not, allow?
Got any other professions we could pretend to for my next thread?
I vote neurosurgery, but mostly because, even stepping back into this fracas so long after the fact, probably indicates I could benefit from the services of one, so if any of you end up showing any signs of "competence in the field", I could send some work your way.

@OP: Nobody cares...
Also, Phoenix Pack II can still happen. This poll was solely about re-releasing Pack I.
As for this business, I suppose, following the traditional format, this would be the part where we carry on in the following fashion...
Me: Your Mom cared last night, several times actually.
You: My Mom died in a ninja attack, and you are a terrible person! Also, I question your sexuality!
Me: Your mental capacities indicate you likely utilize buses of the most diminutive variety.
You: tl;dr
Me: That's exactly what your Mom said, last night!
You: Reported! Also here is a gif of Samuel L. Jackson killing snakes...on a plane.
Me: Nuh UH! Your reported! And here is a gif of two cats ignoring each other.
You: It's "YOU'RE" you freaking numbwit! I am the grammar!
Me: Grandma?! is that really you?!!
You: DIAF!!!
And so on and so forth, until we remember that Locusts are awesome, and we could actually be spending our time killing Daishi's with them instead of doing whatever this is.
In closing, may I just say, there was a vote, fair and square, and now it's time for them on the "YES" side (a group that includes me) to respect the outcome, and be gracious "losers", and for them on the "NO" side to step back a bit, and be good sporting "winners"...so that we can all get back to the business of blowing each other up violently on the battlefield with our giant robots!
And also, let's not forget something pretty cool, which is that we, the collective body of Phoenix players, pulled off the pretty impressive feat of racking up 65,000 kills together to even earn the vote in the first place. Frankly I'm pretty stoked about that. Go us eh?

That had absolutely nothing to do with anything I said. You're nuttier than a Snicker's bar!
Personally, I've already considered the vote old news. What I was trying to do, since you seemed to get your shorts in a knot over the whole issue, so much to the point as to make a chest-thumping, "Look at me!" post, is point out two important things for you:
1) Nobody cares anymore; it's a done deal.
2) It's not the end of the world.
As soon as you accept those two facts, we can move on to other and better things.
As for me, I've been smashing Mechs for a while now and have put the vote out of my mind. I recommend you do the same. With that, I leave this ghetto thread.

Ooooh! I think I see where we went wrong here mate!
My original post was made before the vote even opened, and was intended to offer some perspective from the "YES" viewpoint for those who were still considering which way to vote. Once the vote was final, and showed the "NO" vote took it, I, like you, moved along pretty quick into, "Ahwelltimetogetbacktoplaying-Land", and, until the post above, hadn't really ventured back in to these waters (though I did express disappointment over how people on both "sides" were so dang mean to each other over this whole thing in another thread, because seriously, crazy stuff that ).
Possibly you read the OP as a futile "post-vote beating of the drum" as it were, and had not noticed the OP date? Understandable perspective on my OP from that angle for sure, and I'd have likely felt a similar sentiment in your shoes. That being said, I'm certainly not one to "rally the troops for battle after the battle has been lost", so much as the "hey, whatever, let's all have a beer" type, so, hopefully that clarifies.
P.S. I'll have to tell my wife someone thought I was "chest-thumping". Hehe, I've never been accused of such shenanigans in my life, since I'm a pretty passive and self-effacing type of guy. Invariably, my favorite target is...myself.
Anyhow, cheers and all that. See you on the battlefield eh? o7
Ever thought that maybe they need to sell some old mechs in order to pay for the cost of developing the new ones?

Then they are truly screwed.
Alan Davion, on 28 May 2015 - 05:06 AM, said:
And guess who screwed them over.
The players, evidently.
I guess when PGI goes under, it will be because the people who wanted to purchase Phoenix packs were unable to spend their money.
How about you buy them for c-bills and donate the equivalent amount of cash it would have cost for the Phoenix pack to PGI as MC purchases or something?
They can't do it like that. As I and several others have stated numerous times in this thread, the custom geometry of the existing (P) 'mechs is exactly what they cannot use again for a new pack.
Okay, I have a proposition for you. Or anyone for that matter.
No, make that a challenge.
Anyone who has the (P) mechs, go into your hangar, take screenshots of those mechs, then take screenshots of the Non-(P) mechs, and try to figure out how there might be 'new' custom geometry made for those mechs, and where.
Making visual notes on the screenshots themselves would be best, or if all else fails, textual notes on what the new geometry design could be, and where.
I will bet that there aren't a whole lot of ways to swing new custom geometry for those mechs.

Given that the only limit is imagination, and PGI's art department has that in spades, I'm sure they can come up with something even if your imagination isn't up to the task.
One easy way would be to give them the Resistance treatment; lots of shiny-looking add-on plates with some guard rails/fasteners, and some nice bullet holes and scratches on the underlying components.
Another way would be to alter the geometry more like the Founder or Loyalty 'mechs; tank-tread or just extended shoulder guards here, a pointed or cut-off nose there, and a shiny head somewhere would be all it took. Custom geometry doesn't need to be all that complicated.
Alan, let it go. Nobody cares anymore, there's nothing anybody can do anymore. It's a done deal. No more Phoenix. No use beating people over the head about it now.
