It is so funny the amount of forum meltdown about the upcoming negative quirks. The Timber Wolf and Storm Crows are not dead. Nor for that matter are the other mechs being nerfed. What is dead is the pure laser vomit Timber Wolf and Storm Crow. And even though I have thousands of games with laser vomit versions of these mechs they needed nerfed. They were by far the two best mechs in the game. And they will still be great mechs after the nerf just not OP.

Just relax and play this out for a few weeks and see how it works. Then you can have your meltdown :)

Here is what the forum is like right now. >>>>

You don't have to "wait to see how it plays" to know a near 2 second burn time on Clan ER LL is a death sentence. Maybe if you left the steering wheel underhive to venture into competitive play from time to time you'd know that?

Yeah it is. Its a death sentence to that teammate Raven that runs out in front of you, in between you and what you are shooting at right as you fire your lasers, at a nice easy angle to make sure he absorbs as much of your laser as he can. Now that it is 2 seconds its going to be a lot easier for the Raven to get caught in the beam and kill himself.

I also noticed you aren't on CWDG's comp team so where do you get your competitive experience?

Ok, that actually made me laugh. :) I'm not sure where you are getting CWDG from as Delta and I went our different paths precisely because I AM looking for tournament play and the Delta guys are taking a break right now.

Ah okay, you are still on their membership list, and last time I saw you in game you were sporting CWDG tags.

In any case, Sulla knows the game, I wouldn't consider him an underhiver. Simply saying to try out what we have for a while before raging is not a false statement. 2 second ER LLs are bad yes, ~1.35 cLPLs and c ERMLs are not terrible though.

You can always add another ER ML to make up DPS and HPS.

So it is only deadly to teammates but not enemy's?

All depends on how many energy hard points you use. What they have done in effect is cut back the number of usable energy hard points on these mechs.

I mean dead as far as not being the OP mech/build it was. You an also run 2 LPs and 3 MPLs on the TW with a penalty of 15%.

It's mostly gonna do more damage to yourPosted Image own team mates. Fire an inner sphere er large laser...now do same for clan version. Which one do you think is going to be more destructive potentially? Derp the inner sphere lasers since their duration is half the speed pretty much does the damage quickest.

cmon man just think about it for a bit and you will see that it pretty much will kill cw in one shot. I mean cw is barely playable now just wait until the only good clan mechs which are extremely few compared to what is has. Even during eventsPosted Image I dont see the population spiking up much only for the idiots that buy wave 3 for the nerf freePosted Image mechs but those will get nerfed quickly enough after they no longer have to give you a refund.

But they have done nothing to address the underlying reasons by the laser vomit meta is so strong clan side: locked DHS, ACs that spread damage too much and lastly this applies to IS builds as well an ECM system that renders LRMs totally binary (they either work or they don't).

Honestly I hate the laser vomit meta. Look at my Timberwolf videos on Youtube, I always carry LRMS and Mguns on them because I believe in balanced loadouts. I have had a bunch of 1200+ damage matches on my meta build Timberwolves, but I didn't even bother upload them as they were the most boring matches ever.

Nonetheless this quirks pass renders my Timberwolf build crippled too because I either run 2xERLL 3xERML 2xMGN 2xLRM10 on my Prime or 2xERLL 4xERML 1xMGN 2xLRM10 on my C.

I was referencing an incident that occurred between myself and the person I was quoting. But in a way yes, if you have longer duration lasers chances are team damage will go up a little.

Honestly this does go a long way in fixing the problem. And they are going to be adjusting ACs soon they said.

Ya'll know that the Direwolf is next right? They just don't want everyone crying at once.

I've already prepared for this since August 8th, 2014 by creating the mighty Wubhawk. :D

I've been running 2xUAC20 2xUAC10 and 2xGauss 2xuac10 and I've been doing pretty much way better (on average) than I ever did with a 80-94 point alpha.

What I am waiting for is for the buff the the very very worst mechs now that they have worked on the OP mechs. Those two moves will help the balance of this game a lot.
