<p>After playing this weekend in mostly solo drop games due to the comp, I can honestly say I have never been headshot as much before!
have they broken the hit box? or are people just getting more accurate with lasers!?!
The battlemaster 1G(P) was headshot almost 11 times in around 100 games (2 via arty/airstrike) but at least 6 with lasers, and yes I know how to torso twist! lol

I thought it was odd, so I went for a summoner and also a highlander .... both were headshot once in around 20 games!!! lol all of which were solo drops btw dont seem to get this in group games?

anyone else noticed this? or had it? lag maybe? something i can fix on my end?

Thanks!
Rev

Not a thing you can do about it. Sounds like a bad run of luck to me though.

Battlemaster has actually proven to be one of the easiest mechs to headshot for me.

Yeah, got to be bad luck. I haven't seen anything regarding changing the hitboxes and i still only get killed by headshot 1 in 1000 times.

No idea how accurate they might be.

For me, I find the Jenner to be the worst offender for cockpit size, probably followed by Timberwolf and Warhawk. I think the battlemaster's issue is that it's close to center mass and it sticks out a bit, so it's easy to hit from many sides (same issue with the Jenner and the Timberwolf)

ive only been head shot once this weekend,
funny story, i was in my LCT-1V, was using my Atlas buddy as a Shield,
kept shooting from between his legs(yes i know how that sounds) the Chat was Hilarious,
anyway got headshot wail i was peaking, i guess that would make it more of a Groin shot for him, :)

I found that my RT on all my mechs was a magnet for AC fire.

I have a theory about this too.

Mechs with head mounted weapons might be easier to apply damage to the head because not only does the standard head hitbox glass transfer damage to the head, but also the weapon when hit.

I thought someone tested this and claimed it was the case, but I haven't tested it myself. It kind of makes sense though, where else would the damage go to? If this is the case, any mech carrying a head weapon (Hunchbacks, Grasshoppers, Vindicators, etc...) Would have a bigger head hitbox than usual.

I'd be curious to know this for sure.

looking at the CFT and what they have highlighted for the head hitbox, Probably not very accurate. At least for the heads.
I am pretty certain it is still like in this old image I made

compared to the other image which has that whole middle window plane as the head hitbox.

Got head shot in a Stalker the other day when rounding a corner at the beginning of a game. The same player then managed to head shot a Spider straight afterwards.

He must be a good player, very lucky or a bit of both.

Certainly took me by surprise.

Cheers!
