Combine the lasers with ballistics or missiles. Think outside the frigging box, for once.

SWORD AND BOARD.

Nets you a 9% nerf instead of 12% for both the prime arms, and you get the almighty wallop of massed SRM's at close range, and the meta infused goodness of a tight side as a shield (though it sucks to have so many HS in that arm). The 4 in the LA have great convergence.

Good for PUGS, not so much for CW.

1. That's cause you are using the dual energy arms.

2. At least it is not 21% like pure energy builds. You can further cut it off. ;)

3. More importantly, during the post patch play, my LRMs + energy Timberwolf is not noticeably affected.

Would you consider putting all your eggs in one basket?

You'll be on 12% that way. If you could handle losing the head laser, you'd gain another 3.

Nope.

I'll be going back to this until they nerf LRMs again.

I love that build. I think I run bigger launchers and less ammo though.

mechs using 2 mediums and 3 smpl do not need nerfed. period. clan or IS or whatever.

I really wish you guys would stop defending this poorly thought out nerf that was just to appease forum/twitter whine.

1. That 2 medium + 3 smalls can easily be swapped with 5 mediums, or 2 CLPL + 3 CERMLs since they all use the same hardpoint. Perhaps we should ask PGI for Sized-Hardpoints?

2. I would say something about it, if my Timbie build was noticeably affected. Right now, it isn't. This isn't even my ideal nerf on the Timbie since I wanted to hit its agility, but hey, this is what PGI had rolled with. Judging by how long they tend to stick with their nerfs, I'd say we are stuck with it for a long time.

or how about the logical thing, and PGI not changing something that isn't broken? especially a diverse loadout like that when the supposed goal is to increase diverse loadouts.

as for swapping them out for other laser weapons...I don't want to and shouldn't have to. I found a nice balance between heat, fire power, range, direct fire, indirect fire, and ammo. it wasn't broke. It wasn't OP. it wasn't meta.

all because people whined that no one took the s*itty clan mechs during the last CW event.

Yep. Time to mothball the TW's. They are done. Better enjoy th erppc quirks on the warhawk prime while it still has them, pretty sure theya re gone next. Along with the direwhale.

lol While I do feel the quirks were overdone (2% would have been a better start) the TW's are far from done. I've seen folks doing well and have had good success tonight with a 7laser build that I only just realized wasn't even elited. I'm sure my 4laser S and 6 laser Prime will fair even better...

Basically ruined the lasers for the clans...thats the only real reason to even get them...what a huge waste of money.

I'm just gonna take a break and come back if I do if they fix this bs quirking business they are doing.

It wasn't the 'Mechs that needed nerfing, it was the equipment. The negative quirks are meant to target specific weapons but are applied to an entire omnipod.

Edit: The Storm Crow does need its torso twist drastically hit, though. That, or give the Battlemaster and Blackjack some similarly phenomenal twist abilities. I'll consider that fair.

Agreed, I was really wishing that PGI would hit their agility more so than anything else, but they didn't.

Now I agree with most here that the nerfs that were given to these two mechs was not the best idea, but its hardly game over for the Timber and Crow.
