yes, how dare they split the sides in half when in lore and in all the other games one side had access to one kind of tech and the other had their own.

Gee.. its almost like making a french faction in a war game use their own tech and the British use their own!

Keep bitching noob. You obviously have no love of the game, history or lore. Once you learn some of it you might understand, but no one cares about your tears.

That's a bit harsh. There is no lore in the game, no explanation of what a clan is or the inner sphere for that matter.

Can't really blame new players for getting confused and frustrated.

We need more lore in the game, more context. It's fine for those of us familiar with the IP but for others...

It's the Call of Duty mentality (btw, I play that on occasion, so don't think I am slamming the games themselves or all who enjoy them)

But it really is, kids used to a tactics free environment where everyone can use everything and the only difirence in sides is color, not tech, not abilities, color.

Why can't you use clan tech in the IS? because its not a 360 no scope SVD you unlocked after getting 3 head shots and a nuke strike.

it's part of the faction. You don't see much complaining in the way of this from those who play Star Craft or even things like Battle Field 3.

they will start to realize that in order for THEM to enjoy CW, they need and open and enjoyable queue even for PUGs from where THEY can recruit their unit ranks. Hint: New unit players coming out of thin air are not so common as PFKAP (players formerly known as PUGs).

OR ..people can get on team speak, faction drop with players who are on and agreeable, and work as a team.

Not sure how CW can be more pug friendly if you are gonna be a dumbarse behind the keyboard and rush in like it is Solo que and get wrecked in the first 5 minutes.

Besides, there is a limit on how much a "Hardcore roleplaying mode" can be noob friendly.. There is a reason most other games do not even allow solo players in their equivalent of CW.

would actually be cool if they put a bunch of videos together to enplane things like law most could be in game but a few like say a time line intro video or something could be CGI, other things could be an in game video for each faction with a breath introduction when you click on there banner when you are picking who you will fight for rather then just text. a CGI video might be good for when they hit steam.

PGI !!!!
________________________

CW is failing because destroying objectives are not rewarded end of game...

I commanded a leaderless team to win via the objectives, I pushed so hard to destroy all gens and finish off the Omega cannon (5 kills and 550 damage)

Result: 79 points.

While that's a slap in the face, I did the highest kills and tried my best to steer a leaderless team to victory yet I got less C-bills then if I had lost the game and went for outright damage !!

Please include a secret reward against damage on key targets that gets put in the end total rewards but not the damage column if needs be (I reckon it should be as it's damage against the other team but w/e).

So glad I managed to power through this event quickly. 5 wins / 7 losses. The last 2 losses were quite awful. I really don't like playing Clan vs. Inner Sphere, but this event was totally devoid of any House vs House shenanigans unfortunately. I hope the next 2-4 events have nothing to do with Community Warfare.

CW is supposed to be an organized playing field, kinda "expert mode". But opening it up for anybody makes it a huge mess with people having not much of an idea of what is happening (just have to see the number of OMEGA rushes during counter...)

Yeah, maybe you ought to qualify or sort of unlock CW first. Maybe that would help. Sadly, that would also help diminish the playerbase for CW in general, amplifying CW's worst problem as evidenced by CW server population outside of incentive events.

Differentiate between "dumbarse" and PUG you should.

Yeah. Please disallow PUG in CW. Then come whining back to the forums. Was a bad idea in normal game mode, will be a bad idea for CW.

Too bad I won't be around to participate this weekend. Got RL stuff going on instead.

Besides, I'm just not feelin' the Clans. They're just not very exciting any more.

On top of all that, there's just too little notice before to break contract. If I did it right now, then I could only pick up a new one on Sunday. The really only gives me two days (even if I wasn't going out of town) in which to win prizes. That's just not enough time for CW with the population as low as it is. It's not economical to break my contract for this; I really doubt any one in my Unit will do it either. Maybe if we had more advance notice or if there wasn't a 72 hour turn-around...

Yeah, clans are not exciting or even that amazing anymore......they can basically put on LPL/ML/MPL or LL....any other build is basically obsolete.

I didn't say I disagreed with you, just that it would help if there was more context in the game itself. We have this rich history and setting which is not even touched on in the game. It is such a shame.

What I would love to see is a single player campaign, setting out the story. With CW locked until you complete it.

Also a way to promote units and recruit from the game itself.

Never happen. PGI's version of a "tutorial" is to throw you into the Solo Queue with a trial mech...you either learn how to play or you stay a complete idiot forever. PGI could care less as long as you're wasting your money on them.

Is it just me, or is it impossible to earn anything towards these achievements if no one is playing?

Ceasefire ********... I get 2 hours to play; do one match after a 18 minute wait to get a 30 minute ceasefire wait time?

Are you trying to make people play another game? Well congratulations, you just made me go play a different game.

I think you guys need to seriously consider that some of us work for a living and don't have all day to *WAIT* to play a game... Every time I think I've seen the worst design in my 27 years of programming and I'm constantly surprised at how much worse it keeps getting...

Sincerely,
-Seriously getting annoyed at your incompetence, and you STILL CAN'T ADD a bloody COLOUR BLIND mode to your HUD...........

Can someone point me to the statement where it says you are forced to participate in this event?

I have plenty of uncompleted or never tried challenges listed on my challenge page. I only do the ones that interest me.

Thanks PGI... I actually like this event.

stop whining about not getting MC on IS side... how many times have they given out a champion for the intersphere and not the clan?

We are having the same event but for IS next weekend... so they will get what they want...and i need to ask the unit leader to move to IS.

Also, PGI, please disallow trial mechs in CW. You yourself are always saying CWis for groups and is hardcore and pugs should stay away... so why offer trials for total newcomers?
by disallowing trials you can at least make sure that everyone in a CW match is familiar enough with the game mechanics (because he/she grinded for 4 mechs of his own)

IS get MC as well, in the personal challenge. So no whining and complaining required in this regard.

During the last attack phase we managed to conquer BOTH attackable planets for Jade Falcon with just ONE active dropship from our unit.

Anyone from IS who is complaining should just overcome their anxieties and find a unit!

Its more likely that the IS units are drowned by the IS solo drops.

CW is supposed to be an organized playing field, kinda "expert mode". But opening it up for anybody makes it a huge mess with people having not much of an idea of what is happening (just have to see the number of OMEGA rushes during counter...)

And you could have "newbie friendly" units so people can be introduced in a lighter and friendlier way to organized play. If CW was only limited to people in units everyone in there would have a better time.. Have to say that PGI is being a bit too myopic about this sadly.

Most units are pretty newbie friendly, at least noobs that join up and listen are better then the omega rush on counter set.
