While the intention for this event to promote CW is good, the execution of the event makes it another, maybe, critical blow to CW and perhaps MWO in general.

By only putting out incentive for the clan side and easiing the way to brake contract, many of the competive groups will join the clans (I absolutely can understand this) to get the goodies. They will flood the queques with their 12 man goups and roll over IS Resistance. So the few die hard IS loyalist who are out defending will loose interest very fast cause of the regular stomping.
The small groups and PUG players on the Clan side will never see an defender cause the greater groups get their games first.
So this group of players will fast loose interest, too.
Maybe I am wrong but I fear that this event will be even more desastrous to CW as the Tukayyid event, which was a desaster because of the long waiting queque on the IS side.

An idea to get the event running. Combine it with an event for Resistance Mechs on IS side with the same incentives, but the challenge for the Medallion this should only be on the Clan Side and the next week or in two weaks do the same event, call it Resistance event and give out an IS Medallion for the same challenge on IS side as now for the clan side.

If anything the clans can fight amongst themselves perhaps to get the intial points....as for the planet take over part of the challenge looks like ghost drops will win the day in that department over time. =/

I'm a bit disappointed, I'd love to participate in this event to get some goodies, but I do not own any clan mechs until Wave III hits on June 16th. I've only been playing the game for not quite two months(Even though I'm a Founder, I played a week at launch and didn't play for past three years.) Is there anyway possible to somehow get credit since I will own clan mechs a month from now, considering I don't have the fund to buy any eligible mechs for the event.

History has taught me to be immediately suspect of this event..If the clans do even moderately well, which they will, (MS switched to wolf today a couple hrs before the event was announced), The data will be used to further nerf clan mechs..Hellbringers anyone? Pack I is gutted..time to start on Pack II.

No cooldown, but it will still cost 100 million CBs to unit to break contract?
Nope.

This is my concern as well. We will see I guess.

Waiting for Resistance/IS only challenge.

Even though I own 2 and half (still need to buy the top two tiers of Clan III) full Clan packs as a financial supporter of PGI, I just can't bring myself to break my permanent assignment with House Davion to fight for the vat-babies. :P

This event showcases one of the reasons I'm losing interest in CW, but its slightly different to JayKay17's reasoning. I'm not so much worried about the 12 man stomping, maybe I've been lucky so far but I've never seen a 48-0 horror story. I think the most one sided game I've seen was like 48-20, and I still had fun on the losing side.

I'm losing interest because of all the constant swapping sides. The whole point of CW is to fight for your faction, try to grow your faction's territory and make your faction the strongest ... but why does that even matter when everyone changes faction so much.

Its like "Davion is best! Woo! I fight for Davion! Oh wait ... clan event! Clans FTW!". The global map is meaningless.

I am a fan of MWO and I support it where I can, I have all the packs and am very happy with them (I am one of those idiots who gets on with all of my mechs) but I am not going to bother with this challenge this time. Why well 3 reasons

1) I am at this time under IS contract and I do not break my contract I am no souless merc that sells his soul to the highest bidder

2) more importantly CW is broken and no fun I prefer thePugs to any CW atm and I was/am a Nova Captain or something like that in Clan Wolf, but CW is so boring and without any aim atm that it is not worth the hassel and time to play.

3) the constant CLan NERF NERF NERF is getting on my nerves and therefore I have lost any ambition in CW wath so ever on top of the other reasons.

Now these are my OWN problems and therefore I must live with what I think is the best answer, to all of you who think this event is good I wish you the best of luck and lots of fun good teams and lots of rewards, to those of you who will not take part please do not complain that this event is shite or the such, just ignore it and carry on as you would but do not slam those who want to enjoy it-

Thank you very much have a nice one one and all.

Getting 80 points is easy enough as it is.

If your in a proper premade team sure, 200 is pretty easy then. If your not, you have about a 60-70% chance per match to reach 80 points based on the stats from the last major event.

That said its great to see a way to get more than 1 point per match being trialed for CW events. Hopefully they can bring in a number of secondary objectives (that aren't dependent on actual mechs dropped) that can also be used to gain bonus points so that targets like 50 are actually achievable. If winning matches becomes a secondary goal, CW becomes a lot more fun for everyone.

I think what they should do, is rather than signing up for XX% bonus and getting xxxK cbill bonus for match completion, you should start with 0% bonus and 50k win bonus, then it increases each week by 2.5%/10k up to a maximum of say 50%/150k for being in the same faction for 10 weeks. Any time you swap faction, your bonuses reset back to the bare minimum of 0%/50k.

You could potentially put population "caps" on factions so that an individual faction can't exceed 25% of the total population to avoid it boiling down to two major factions like what happens in some games.

What are those loyality bonus medallions? Do they give a generalized LP bonus, or just for Clans or just for a certain Clan and what kind of loyality medallion are they? I've bought the Wave III package and they have medallions in them, just like the Phoenix package had medallions. So, do I get those bonus LP medallions too? Or are they just a bunch of useless cockpit items?

Dear PGI, just make the Loyality medallions purchasable - and if we already have medallions, apply the LP bonus on top of them. This would be the best thing you could do towards the community on both sides.

We have a lot of medallions right now. Just put the 5% bonus on the House/Clan medallions and let the community be happy once in a while. I have a full package of glass medallions, will have a full package of normal mediallions when Wave III comes in, I have the broken inner sphere item etc... would be nice, if they mean something.

Edit: Also - rethink on giving item awards which are exclusive for people owning a certain package. There is no way that anyone who did not bought a certain package can get those items. This was true for the Phoenix event and is now also applied for the invasion challenge. This is a bad move, as you exclude a massive part of the community to get some items they MIGHT even play for - but cannot get and will thus:
- Feel pretty left out
- Will not do anything for this event(s) as they do not get the only rewards they might feel to invest time for
- Causes grudges

I can understand, that Phoenix variants or invasion variants are special, as they cost real money. But medallions also cost real money, as they are only available for MC.
But you already get your 30% C-Bill boost on the mechs. The LP-factor on the other hand should be handled in a more proper way: Anyone who plays CW should be able to aquire them. Make them available for the whole community and leave the C-Bill bonus to the chassis alone.

Im pretty sure you would only get 1, eject 3 times near end to at least drop in each mech should get you 4 points.
