That Shadowrun looks good. To bad its turn based. Cyberpunk 2077 is coming out though by Cdprojektred I think, they are keeping this on the down low, anyones guess whats going on here. I hope they have character customization and companion system(big weakness of witcher 3) like the Fallout(rumour more cyberpunk rather than only post apoc) and ME series. I think those 3 games will be huge and compete with each other.

Unless I am missing something, Mechwarrior Online is the only online game I can see competing in the arena of next gen sci-fi/cyberpunk games. Possibly Star Citizen or Elite Dangerous. Another but unlikely game may be Survarium, which is nothing more than a well done arena shooter but promises to add more.. Mechwarrior is well out in front for online games by a long shot.

Looks like we're getting a new Mech Commander game with fully working economy and infrastructure.

I found this screenshot.

Please let it be a Mechcommander clone with lots of strategy, upgrades, pilots and such....wish, wish, wish

Edit: ...and an intelligent hardpoint system not to mention. With todays technology they could make something really big, starting with one mech and pilot and progressing to a while company of mechs.

But i'm just speculating

Peace

Russ and Paul are not on the smart side of things when it comes to game development, but they are good at nursing every last cent they can out of this old franchise - I would definitely not expect them to license out the IP -unless- they were at the very end of their development for MWo, which might actually be a reality given how the appear to be completely unable/unwilling to develop the game any further.

they don't own the IP.
Microsoft owns the Rights to the digital video games of this franchise.
If Another company wants to make a mechwarrior game, and Microsoft gives them the license, then they can make it.

Well if its a PvE game fine, if its not fine..if it happens...shrugs

I see it not happening.

Because people would perceive it as going to be a lot better, because of who the partner is/might be, and leave MWO in numbers.

Its also an open admission that PGI are not good enough to do this on their own, which many people have accused them of since closed beta.

However if PGI could get a big enough cut and credit, while Harebrained did most of the work, it might happen

No one has brought up the Renegade Legion IP. That was also a FASA original. Grav tanks anyone?

If they come up with a MMO MechCommander game that has a persistence universe, I think I would be quick to drop MWO because it's lack of anything real.

Russ in the last town hall on PvE: We're looking at it and starting to work on it. Not gonna be soon tho.

I would LOVE a Mechcommander 3, so long as they stuck to the epic that was MC1 and 2 and didnt go off on some 2015 derp fest that most games are now.....

Something like Men of War and MEchcommander Gold having a baby would be good.

MechCommander 3, this time you can jump into the cockpit and pilot too.

Or Crimson Skies. I liked the one Zipper Interactive made for the PC, but the action is limited to flying missions. You can customize your plane though a bit like Mechlab.

mechwarrior tactics 2.0?

As PGI holds the paid license they hold the control over what Harebrained can do with it.......

Given Shadow Run is the other game that Hairbrained is running with this seems most likely. Sorry to burst any bubbles. Could still be fun...
