Build: CPU i5-4670k MoBo ASUS Hero Maximus6 GPU GTX760SC 8Gig RAM. Get 60fps in most game on ulta.

I've been seen a LOT of people crashing during map loading. 1-3 disconnects at the beginning of each game I play, and they subsequently rejoin. I also have been crashing a lot more recently when I Alt+Tab. More specifically, when I Alt+Tab into the game while the map is loading. I'm running full screen, but I've heard it's not an issue with windowed. Haven't tried windowed myself yet.
Is Alt+Tab or fullscreen a factor in your crashes, do you reckon?

It's possible that there's an issue there, that can cause problems. I seem to get crashes when I'm frequently using the vision modes.

I use the thermo vision a good bit, is there a bug that might cause a CTD if I use it?

What's still unclear to me are the specific factors. Alt + Tab doesn't seem to be the main cause for me, and I need to see what mode I use.
Where there might be a combination of other factors causing this, like a memory leak(s) connected to getting overheat shutdown then reactivating vision modes and/or simply from activating / deactivating vision modes frequently in matches. I also tend to see crashes more often when my ping goes up and down radically and getting unexpected shutdown since I lose track of where my heat was due latency and I guess HSR.
Very rarely, have I seen a crash during a match, but I can get crashes on starting a new match as it's loading, after having a series of matches of at least activating and reactivating vision modes.
Hope that's making some sense, since I haven't looked at this more closely yet, to isolate some of the potential variables due to how infrequent this can be for me.

It's either your hardware, your drivers, or how you are running MWO (32/64 bit, DX9/DX11). I've been playing this game since early open beta and have had very few CTDs, and I'm running a far less robust system than you are.

It's a software issue.

There are so many combinations of PC hardware, so many chances for different issues.
Newer hardware can actually be worse, especially if developers own test PC's are becoming dated so not picking up all the issues.
Nothing to do with failures or corruptions, things like race conditions will be more pronounced on faster many core CPU's and the good GPU's are pushing out new drivers monthly which can introduce new issues.
Nvidia released the day before the MWO patch which likely is contributing to the issues, PGI wouldn't have tested on the new driver at all.
Console is so much simpler to develop on. PC is a nightmare.
