Which they then mine and sell in bulk as enriched kosher salt.

I hear MercStar was bought out by Jade Falcon for 18,750,000 C-Bills...

And brought Rifleman into their Clan dropdecks.

Oh wait!

Posted Image

Didn't get a chance to change my dropdeck after we switched from Steiner to Jade Falcon, found the Faction Warfare mode select screen locked to scouting with access only to a trial Mist Lynx, unable to save...so dropped with 3 Riflemen!

Why don't we just all go full-merc and use whatever the hell we want in CW?

Rumor has it that MS has once again joined Evil, 420, JFGG, SWOL, 228, and just about every other merc group out there on Jade Falcon's side (AGAIN) during their final push around Terra, in the ever elusive but ongoing "search" for a Call to arms generated room of 12 totally random solo/pug pilots who've likely never met each other, driving IS trial mechs, that can ACTUALLY stand up to a 12 man premade Clan meta team... The rest are farmed and slaughtered with zero concern and routinely made fun of... if not flat run off.

Rumor has it this search continues with no successful sightings to date. The searchers are having a ball though and steamrolling planets like they are free, so they don't seem to care..

Terrans (and the rest of the playerbase not involved in the "searching") are reportedly evacuating at an alarming rate.

(What I'd like to know is... At what point do you stop blaming the designer for being able to exploit the glaring holes in the system for your own maximum benefit and fun regardless of the damage and pain to others and the game itself, and simply start NOT continuously doing it over and over and over until the map flat breaks ?? Or are you all REALLY ok with flying it into the ground as often as you can out of spite ??).

Hey aylward. This is for rumors only.

Until pugs learn to quit queueing for defense they're going to get stomped. Their fault for clicking call to arms.

Plus it's not MS' fault that everyone else misunderstood what was meant by "mercs just want good fights".

Good fights? GOOD fights you say???

I will take A fight....last night it was stacked 4 deep on attack then after a 10-15+ minute count up...start the count down...which ends with no fight. x3 'auto wins'.

As for Aylward....

...we play clans, then we play IS, then we play clans, then we play IS, then we...you get the idea here.
...when we go to a faction, we do not pick the attack lanes and have the same choices as anyone else in the faction.
...we don't keep tags on planets. (tags get wiped with each new contract; for us..that is normally once a week)
...the results are fairly consistent regardless of if we play Clan or IS in either W/L or K/Ds. (Teamwork is OP)
...when we vote each week on our next destination, mine is generally cast for 'the faction that has the shortest wait time'.
...while sometimes we do know who will be where at any given time; MOST of the time, we don't (We have no clue where [228], or [EVIL], or [Kcom] will be next week; most of the time we don't know were WE will be next week).
...we are not an 'unstoppable force', we can and have been beat (I have personally lost over 40 matches)

Okay.

However the statistical average for how often the bulk of mercs end up on the same side of a conflict vs opposing sides doesn't actually carry out the hypothesis that it's just semi-random voting answer everyone making a decision in a vacuum.

The statistical average points to the bulk of mercs (MS included) gravitating to the position that will get them the most drops vs pugs. Kurita, for example, on your last trip would have gotten insta-drops on defense all day. Steiner at any point over the last 3 months would have been insta-drops against CJF.

Instead most mercs (MS included) go where they can draw the most pugs when dropping in attack queue - even if that's ghost drops. Which still pay, right? And dem tags!

Not making a moral judgement here just an observation. MS goes where they can draw pugs to the defense queue. Most merc units do, because attack is easier than defense and faster for flipping matches and steamrolling mostly pugs in the defense queue pays way better than losing to other coordinated teams doing it to you 50% of the time.

Hence the value of collapsing attack/defend into one queue per front.

At this point though the idea that most people in most factions know more about who's going where than MS does isn't likely. Nor is the argument of "we want good matches" really valid as the system itself rewards going to whoever is winning currently and helping their attack queue roll the suicide pugs who can't resist going there, even if it's mostly ghost drops rather than defense queue against the same.

The problem is that with a broken system like what we have now you're either exploiting it to your advantage or being exploited by it. Can't blame anyone for not wanting to take the less profitable option.

Just don't pretend it's just a coincidence.

Another proclamation claiming that MercStar is ruining the game by playing the game?

Refer to my topic, "Enough Whining," for your concerns about organized teams versus pugs in Community Warfare.

Yep - when everyone else was already there.

Not the months prior.

Which isn't an MS thing, as I said above. It's a pretty clear facet of population movement. My favorite term for it was "chasing the salmon".

Which is the reality of the game design, most people go where they are rewarded to go and inexplicably there's a dedicated pug population who'll show up consistently to lose 90% of their matches to feed it.

As I said prior as well, not making any sort of moral judgement here other than an observation about the honesty of some statements. Some units go where they are paid, a few units go where there are regular good matches, most in units follow the salmon. The idea that some units are completely disconnected from what everyone else is doing and, say, what faction is next to whom in the leaderboard is disingenuous.
