Kin3ticX knows what he's talking about. I think he and others in -MS- have always said clans have a tech advantage, but IS quirks were rolled out to counter it in many ways. There's still differences that affect playstyle, as Kin mentioned, but they really only matter in FP where mech choice is restricted. Even then, differences in tech generally aren't the deciding factor in a match.

If you're a b33f fan, watch the Maximum LRM video he published recently. Widely considered the worst of all possible weapons for FP, but in the right hands and using the right strategy, just completely decimated a (admittedly, pug-filled) clan team, including a pile of KDK-3's. Tech was completely irrelevant there.

Funny how those videos are never against kcom or EVIL ...

And about CLAN tech not being the deciding factor, how about those jumping timber wolves defending vitric forge on top of the cathedral hmm ? 75 tonner with an 80 alpha strike times 12 on higher ground ...

Pretty sure that the reason those videos don't include KCom is because we play at such a late time that TheBeeF rarely, if ever fights us.

Also I am pretty sure that 12 madcats on top of the cathedral on vitric would have been mutilated by LRMs because of the lack of cover and being in a higher position than the mech doing the firing. LRM's would have rocketed straight up over those high walls right into the face of those Timbers. That being said, I am confident that most good organized teams can deal effectively with the LRM users.

This just in: The 12 Timber Wolf air assault jump over the closed gates during Invasion Modes was devised by me while I was with Clan Wolf International! (Actually, no, that's truth...or is it?)

But since this is about MercStar...Da Frog is right. Everyone is actually part of MercStar-they're just using alts to play both sides!

So everyone is part of the problem and the solution!!!

I hear mercstar is currently beta testing a new clan only consumable-elementals, for PGI. They would replace artillery. Drop them while targeting a nearby enemy unit and they auto attack it with er small lasers, srm-2s, and a swarming attack for 30 seconds. Only available for omni-mechs though. Let the carnage begin! Release time is supposed to be in February or so. Or so I hear...

You know, warped as it may sound, some version of that would be far, far cooler than Long Tom. They would have to be destructible though, if it ran for 30 seconds.

Release the Termites!!!

Shhh.... this is all part of the new super secret, ED-proof brawling meta. I hear MS is hard at work perfecting these new brawler builds for both Clan and IS... while goofing off at work.

I hear the the whole thing is codenamed Operation: The Face-Humping Immortals

MercStar bought out the Faction Warfare matchmaker system for $18,750,000 C-Bills so we could farm all the salmon in the Inner Sphere.

MercStar controls the US Electoral College. Antonious Rex and Xavier will be voted President and VP, not Trump-Pence.

And that is surprisingly easy, because IRL Rex-Xavier are Clinton-Kaine.

This is slightly off topic since it's not about MS, but among mechwarriors Mike Pence is better known as Pat Kell. Trump doesn't play MWO anymore, he got banned for trash talking.

Actually the mechcon announcement is that the failure of FW is the direct fault of MS, for which PGI has a 45 minute presentation to demonstrate.

Fortunately we already know that just because PGI says something, promises it's true and provides a powerpoint presentation on the details, that has nothing at all to do with the truth.

What's funny is that you and I are functionally saying the same thing -

Why did we ever expect the game to be better than it is or that we should have ever thought that the game would be better than it is right now.

The only real difference is that you seem to consider that a good thing.
