The latest event is called Clan Invasion.
PGI allowed contract switching galore.
Mercenaries like MercStar went clan, and are clobbering the other clans, and all the real Clan units are legitimately pissed about this.

For the Next event, before MWO goes to steam. PGI, please start putting in restrictions on contracts and mercenaries.

In no way should Innersphere mercs switch to clan enmasse, then attack other clans, ruining the entire event, and pretty much the game.

Let's Fix This broken mechanic of the game, it's currently just a mess.

I really wish they would experiment with capping how many people join a particular faction. Seems like such a flexible knob that can be tweaked so many different ways.

It still wouldn't help in events like this though, since everyone changes in the beginning and it takes a few attack phases to see who ended up where and where the imbalances are.

Russ, during one of the recent town halls. It's expected to be coming to steam by late Q3 IIRC.

@OP

You realize that it would take a team twice the size of PGIs current team to fix all the major problems by this time next year -- right?

be surprised if they even thought there was an issue with CW or any other aspect of the game especially map development, only they care to do is "iterate" clan quirks

Sadly not gonna happen, I know IGP screwed with a lot of things while they where in control. But these guys had 4 years, .. 4 .. years.. of beta time, because that is what this is, it is STILL a damned beta, to make a good game. Even before they made it closed beta and open beta, they had a lot of time to work on this.

This.. this is sad..I expect nothing from this game other then a once in a while, shallow as hell MechWarrior shell of a game.

it hasn't even been a 3 years total let alone 4, and that is when they started. Most games of this scope take 2-3 years before it goes live though they fast tracked this one, through a founders program for funding, which didn't even start closed beta, which really was alpha in the end of the summer of 2012..

If the game is not in a state you like, it is pretty easy to just wait and not play, verse complaining about everything a company does.

CoD, takes years, and hundreds of millions, with 100's of people working on the game (and no i don't play it, i am just using it as an example). this game has a small team, small IP, it is going to take a while. I really wish more people worked in the game industry and actually understood what it took to make a game, verse sounds just completely silly.

Wait what, are you seriously saying that there being more battles and more people to fight is BAD for this game!?

I am utterly baffled.

Where was MercStar clobbering other clans? I don't really care for CW (because it's bad), but i played this event with falcons, and after like 25 games, most of them against wolf, i have yet to be clobbered a single time by MS. Falcons seem to cut through Clan and IS alike pretty solid.

I fully understand what it takes to make a game, I have several friends in the industry and I realize it takes up to if not more then 8 years for non major companies to make a game.

That being said, PGI took the "beta" off of MWO and it is still far far from a complete game, and yet I am willing to bet, once they drop a few more modes into CW and pub matches that will in no way shape or form change the game play of the two.. they will coast on mech packs and the occasional map.

No features of this game will be added willingly, only if they think it will save their ass for a few months longer.

It takes alot to make a game. Being somewhat of a dev myself I can understand PGI's team. Its small but they are improving this game in nice increments. What amazing is that they are doing very well with the resources they have. I hope that they grow bigger and really expand so that this game gets all the support and love it needs, which is probably one of the reasons I buy into it.

JC I know how you feel. Seems like people on the forum here just rip at PGI for all the minor issues. Its really petty. Whats worse is that they forget that this is a free to play model, and things can get tricky there. For a free to play this game has amazing models and resources put into it which is really impressive. I honestly applaud PGI for that.

I will continue to help and support this game. I feel that as a community we should be coming to gether to provide constructive criticism and help reinforce the game's good points.

Keep up the good work PGI, you've got haters, but its those that stick with you that matter at the end of the day.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

Steam...

I know they release some pretty crappy games on Steam, but I'm pretty sure this one won't pass muster. There's NO way PGI can get this game rigged up to be delivered on a working system like Steam. These guys can't even get the HSR to work right.

Though they mention this in the past before...
That they might give up on the fix hsr and rather build regional servers instead...
Soooo after a long time of no HSR fixes.. they are starting to talk about Euro and APAC servers.

so what would regional servers do? make pools of players from different parts of the world to play each other? this game is already at an abismally low number of players. the single que yesterday if you could get a game within 10 mins of searching was teh same players over and over
