Would You Pay To Upgrade Your Mech To C/h Status?

I took a break from my Clan Pack 1 and 2 mechs and have been working on IS mechs, when I realized I was making as much, if not more than my Prime (I) mechs with their bonuses. I really wished I could have the +% to cbill earning on top of my premium time... so here's my question.
Would you pay MC or cash to upgrade your mechs just so they could have Champion/Hero status, or perhaps even a timed upgrade (like 10/20/30 days for 6/8/10 bucks for example)?
I don't see this as a bad thing, as it would generate more revenue for PGI in ways they currently don't experience.
What are your thoughts? Ideas?

Honestly I'm against this idea for one reason that Joe touched on as a tangent. If you do this those with the deep pockets will have the biggest advantage. (time being the only advantage you can get in this game) cbill mech released and they would have the spare cbills ready and the XP waiting to fully elite them immediately (some already do this without any bonuses).
PT is afterall better than either a Hero or Champion as it's 50% bumps to both Cbills and XP. Instead of 30% of only one.

So?
Money rich normally equals time poor. as long as it doesn't confer a combat advantage then whats the harm? These deep pocketed players you speak of probably already have a selection of mastered mechs that they like, so nothing can make them 'stronger'

We do.
Some of us have enough mastered mechs to field armies.

But I wouldn't pay for it, no. Not unless there was some visual upgrade, like custom geometry or a unique camo pattern. I've said this before, but I think there should be a level above 'mastering' your mechs, which is basically turning them into hero mechs at the cost of MC. Whether you call them champion mechs, hero mechs or ace mechs doesn't matter, but I think PGI needs to add a new level of mastery, just like WoW has upped the level cap over the years.
It would be nice to identify 'ace' mechs (or equivalent) on the battlefield, with their special unlocked camo patterns and/or custom geometry, and you'd know that the owner had to put some serious time in to get to that level. Make it cost 100,000 XP for example.

Exactly, this doesn't give players an "advantage" in any way. People can already pay cash to purchase MC, or mechs, even Cbills if they want. If I have a favorite mech I like to play, but doesn't fall into the Champion or Hero loadouts, then why can't I pay for a timed or permanent upgrade?
Boom, instant revenue for PGI. It keeps the time-crunched from grinding so much, and allows the money-crunched to keep freeloading bandwidth. win/win

Ok, so you'd want a little flair to go along with the paid upgrade... I wouldn't see why not. Give the modelers something to do... and people could deck out their favorite or goto mechs... I could see that! (especially the custom geometry) Maybe a choice to select from when you upgrade?

Well heroes would be heroes. No other mechs could get their loadout, perks, whatever... I'm just suggesting being able to either purchase permanently or timed bonuses that the champions or heroes get to add to other mechs.

Add 2 specific module slots to each mech
Champ Module 10% bonus XP
Hero Module 30% bonus CB
Sell the modules for MC only, make them permanent on application. Heros and Champs come with the module preinstalled.

I voted for Champion status as a revamp of their Champion policy. I am perfectly fine with their Hero method.

Ah, I must have missed it. But to be fair, Bishop has a thread on everything. You know the saying about original ideas... no such thing. But that's good then... the more threads about the issue, the more attention it'll get.

Better idea is to limit the number you can unlock at each level, making them actually mean something instead of the current just unlock everything that we have.
Suddenly you'd have to choose between Speed Tweak and Convergence for example? Choose between Torso twist Speed vs Torso Twist Range???
It would open up options to build mechs to fit roles and your playstyle.
