pay 2 win for sure. It doesn't matter what quirk it would be, it wouldn't be right to offer the advantage for paying customers and not for free ones.

Not only that. I defaintely would not want to see quirks being purchasable for any type of currency.
It's a balancing tool for PGI. Handing quirks out for people to put on any mech they want effectively reduces that intent and makes it harder to balance.

What do you think Clan waves are?

Original Clan mechs (tw, scrow, dw) were clown shoes op. A year later the new waves are out and they are nerfed. Hellbringer, ecm heavy, essentially covering all clan teams with several layers of ecm at almost no loss in firepower or huge tonnage commitment.

Now we're going to see the cauldron born and shadowcat with better tonnage and and higher hard points. It is almost certain they will not have the nerfs that the TW/scrow have. Based on prior history it is not unreasonable to assume they will be flat out superior until a new mech pack comes out, they will be nerfed into line shortly before its release.
