That way all the earths mech warriors can have equal ping.
I'm not holding my breath on more servers anytime soon, but I would love to be proved wrong.

On a side note. How many of us here would be willing to play only on the Oceanic server?

Errmmm... I will wait for him to update the July Command Chair before I jump with joy.
Need to keep the hype in check.

The limit info states it is a choice not a hard segregation. (But I can't understand that in the past they said the opposite.)

In the past IGP controlled the servers, they basically said no unless you want to separate the regions (ie find a second server provider). Since PGI took over I get the impression from what Russ has said in the Town Halls that they have a server provider that has multiple server locations around the world (or at least access to) so it is there fore easier to implement without separating the regions.

Ahhh.. Company policy issue and not a technical issue. Noted.
Anyway for those you has not seen it.
Mike Forst is trace routes to the planned APAC servers.

Actually no...
Singapore is still a go. If you checked his tweet you would of seen that they are grouping Australia/Asia into an Oceanic server based in Singapore. The two IP addresses that Mike wants us to test are both there. OVH only has server presence in Singapore and Japan so Australia was never an option.

There was an impostor on reddit "pgi_david" claiming that it local servers wont push through.

It needs to be profitable for them to do it. Please help them to prove that it will be.
In that case it would be a good idea for PGI to email those in the target region and get them to voice an opinion/vote in a post made by PGI.
The outlay in effort may be worth the return.
That's if they really want to hear some noise.

Errmmm... They are evaluating 3rd party hosts in singapore which I believe has nothing to do with OVH.
Anyway lets hope for a July release as planned.

Ok, bad phrasing by me. They're looking to measure engagement. Which a bulk email or poll would not achieve.

You are probably right about that. We shall see.
I am expecting around 180ms or so from my location, which is about an 80-120ms improvement. You are going to be very well positioned by the looks of it.

#Region Servers
* Singapore Server probably 100ms ping of Aussie players
* France / German Border for EU server -
* Hoping to have them both drop on the patch.. July 21st... Oceanic may slip to first patch in August
* Matchmaker for public queue will have option to select other servers to increase the pool of player they can be matched against. Will show distribution of players based on what servers you check.
* Believe Hit Reg improves will make the server choices less of an issue.
* Community Warfare will remain NA Only because of low population.
