It was the first Mech game I ever played, and sadly the last. I ended up getting sucked down the Quake1, QuakeWorld|TeamFortress, CS route... however, I have some very fond memories. I remember I was in some big clas, Jade Falcon I believe, and we all were fighting these other people... I knew all the mechs, the clans... all that. Some great memories right there.

Anyways, fast forward a bit and I just plunged down for the Legendary package... really looking forward to piloting a mech again for the first time in all these years.

Can't wait... any good way to buy some time while waiting to be able to play?

MW2 Mercs is my favorite of that franchise. The intro with the scout hauling a** with the Atlas behind him is iconic..And the dropship captains deep booming voice (reminds me of James Earl Jones) just makes this intro unforgettable...

Indeed, MW2:Mercs is by far the best entry in the Mechwarrior franchise to date. Every single thing you did had to be thought out, from modifying your mech to precision aim to preserve salvage, all in pursuit of the almighty C-bill. I was hoping for the sky with MW4:Mercs, but money and plentiful salvage pretty much made it easy mode. Nothing was more horrifying then being on an extended campaign in MW2, losing a few medium lasers and realizing you didn't bring any replacements on the dropship.

Never completed MW2: Mercs. I always stucked in one Mission against several Heavy Mechs, even after i killed them all, the mission didnt end.

I never really got to play MW2: Mercs. I got into the Battletech series with MW3, which I thought was pretty darn good at capturing that feel of the Battletech universe. Except for a mech dying as soon as it loses a leg.

But yes, this was my favorite incarnation... Unfortunately I lost my game disc. I was hoping to rip the soundtrack off and play it for MWO...

Ok here is a thought...In the intro trailer there is a Commando, an Atlas, a Zeus, and a Catapult...Three of the four are already announced to be in-game...Add a dropship...replace the Zeus with a Stalker...Use the Frozen City map...remake this updated iconic intro for all to enjoy!!!

MW2 merc and MW4 merc were my favorites of the series. I just enjoyed being a merc over a pilot for a certain faction.

yes me too, that is what did it for me. even though i ended up doing every mission anyway, so its not like i made the choice to turn anyone down during my career as a merc, it FELT like I was choosing my own fate

also the bonding commission gave my unit a A+. I like getting A+ 's it makes me feel smarT!

i gotta go with MW2:mercs for best in franchise though i'm replaying the heck outta mw4 in vengence, black knight and merc incarnations right now

the tech transition was so well handled. Hell you could fight new tech with old tech. the plot was just better. and yes the intro vid ROCKED. thank you for re linking that i was gonna go youtube it myself. MW2 was a lil less on L33T edge with the arms race than the rest. you had access to mechs i ain't seen in any other game, AND the game guide rocked out with corebook artwork. Wolftrap anyone?

I liked MW3 a lot more than 4, but I never got to play 1 or 2 so I have no idea how those were
