... There are good explanations here. Plenty of people play this game. Not a lot, but plenty. One really big thing this game has going for it... And probably the reason Microsoft gave a scrap to sell the license again in 2015 (Bad Pgi/Igp, bad!) is because thousands of people will bust out $500 like right now considering it a donation. An extremely dedicated and starved fan base will do that and it shows... PGI, TBH, great little company...

But Mech Warrior could and should be so much more complete than it is now. Everything, restricted to a time period, from the books and tabletop should be here. Immersive, intelligent PvE and PvP, tech levels, roles... There is so much more needed. This little company has fed their families on not much more than a MW:2 demo.

PGI, Russ, Bryan?, NGNG... it's time to realize this baby needs a new home. New players do not see the hard times we've been through. Take note, new player.. This game, at times, is rigged for money. It is an arms race for the most part... Face it.

Haven't played since Tukayyid. I have no incentive to do so, and the paltry prizes offered by some of these events have not changed that. Still waiting for a good reason to play other than wanting to hang out with my unit.

They maybe paltry for one event, but for 3 events, they are anything but. That's 45 consumables, 6 million C-Bills, 3,000 GXP, and other assorted goods (this is of course, without counting the double whammy of the CW event)

I don't deny I'm arrogant and condescending. I just find it ironic that you are part of a group that espouses making the community better, yet have no qualms about treating people like crud.

just how good/bad it is, as i see same names. I am not waiting whole 12 mins, mostly when killed, join with different mechs.
But the ELO is in play, i see.

Yeah, they definitely add up, and they're very simple events. 30 match score is pretty much trivial, and you should get that in almost all your matches. Being conservative, 25 matches for the maximum rewards are pretty manageable even for a really time-limited player like me - and I've found it's pretty much 21, 22 matches - there's always that one embarrassing "Got Killed Right At The Start Of The Match" game.

PGI knows, we don't.

Your experience can be impacted by your ELO, your drop weights, when you drop, and RNG fun.
Speculations exist, but they are all speculations.

However I will happily big "more than 24 but less than World of Warcraft"

Well whatever the number, the reality is that MWO probably gets beaten by the Euro Truck Simulator 2!
http://store.steampowered.com/stats/

Once MWO is on steam, we'll know for sure (well at least how many play at a given time). Everything else is speculation.
Now excuse me, I have to park my truck backwards! B)

There need to be orders of magnitude more players playing at any given time.

And there never will be if MWO stays its current course. There needs to be more changes beyond 4 new mechs every 6 months. And more changes then just Nerf deh Klans NAWO!

Don't know, don't care, I don't wait that often for matches, except CW, which is a pain, but only people playing it will change that.

Only suggestition i have that its on decline is the tourny thats on.

It looks like the resistance one might not make the voting stage, the pheonix and founders were done and buried by this time, though the founders was only 50k it was finished by sunday morning GMT so saturday night PST.

Even this isn't hard evidence of declining numbers, it just means that less people bought the package

You're stuck in a ELO bracket. You will see the same players for a while until either you get better than then or worse.

MWO is an arms race until there is more to each fight then jsut killing your opponent.

Close to twice that amount played in the Turkeyshoot event, I believe it was around 17,500

True that! Most games when released on steam get a boost in players then go down after a while.
Really hope that MWO will be in a good shape when coming to steam.

Kills don't change your ELO
Being in a winning team does, your own personal score has no effect on your ELO
