Kills don't change your ELO
Being in a winning team does, your own personal score has no effect on your ELO

Then ist pure ECM / no ECM mech starts (my own expirience, described in another thread.)

At any one moment there are approximately between 250 and 500 users logged into the forums. It's in the 250 range while NA is at work or school and once it hits about 1800 GMT-5 the number shoots up to about 500. At about 2100 GMT-5 it has regularly gotten up to 800+ logged in users.

If you count the non logged in people looking at the site, you can triple those numbers.

Considering that for a fair number of games, according to a few companies, for every user logged into the forum there are between 5 and 8 playing the game it's safe to that right now, as of this post there are 288 users logged into the forum so there should be around around 1200 to 2400 currently playing this game.

Bah not possible.

With urban, i cannot kill regulary, so it always destroy.
With rambo DDC, iam on 1-4 kills a match, so ill play same forever... buuuu

Kills don't change it. Look at your Win/Loss record.

Also, Elo takes a loooooong time to move you up or down a bracket.

Not exactly. ECM might help, but it's less of an issue now, more mechs pack it on both sides, and I think people are finally starting to learn how to counter it, and deal with it. (How hard is it to learn the 1 location that an ECM mech can put ECM in? Smurfy is right there!)

I had a match recently where our team had no ECM, enemy team had 3 mechs. Pirate's Bane, Griffin-2N, and a Hellbringer. I was in my brawl Crab (2xAC20s, SRMs, and 4 MLs). The second I saw that Hellbringer, I popped a full alpha into it's visual right side torso (When the mech is looking at you, the torso to YOUR right, is your visual right torso), and removed the ECM, and a few of it's lasers. 1 ECM down. The griffin was taken down by a DWF who pumped it full of UAC 10s, and the Pirate's Bane was the only one left.

Direct fire weaponry (i.e. 90% of all weapons) can render ECM useless faster than any ECM counter. As long as you know where to aim.

Here's the full list:

Mediums:

Heavies

Assaults

I hope you noticed the pattern here. Literally, every ECM mech can lose it's ECM by removing the left torso. Except for the KFX, you need to take out the right torso instead.

Also, in units one of the first things we learn, is that basic ECCM doctrine is to prioritize, and kill the ECM mech IF fighting under enemy ECM. If the ECM mech is way off in the distance, priority drops significantly.

The only guy I've seen more than twice is "H8Wine"
We were at the same elo for like, a month or something. Guess he ranked up, cause I don't see him anymore :(

Sorry Burk, I guess i did level up a little bit, mostly stuck in the SJR/CJx/228 kinda brackets now on most of my mechs. I have see you a few times, mostly when I level up a new mech. Sometimes this higher elo bracket bothers me, since i can't play as much with guys like you burk, and Juan, and a few others that i used to see all the time when I was relearning the game (Played in CB for a long time, then for a month or 2 at the height of the poptart era, and been playing it a ton the last 5 months or so). Hey, at least we have the friends list, and if you ever wanna play together, just buzz me, we can do group queue together.

Heh, all right.
I guess I'm just stuck at ELO mediocrity for eternity.

Wintersdark, thanks for showing that even if the numbers were larger, its still a long way from healthy.

Next time try without the arrogant condescension.

Maybe next time you try to be a little less doom and gloom?

People have been saying this since i started playing and none of the crystal ball lookers have been even close to correct since that time.

A good company grows with the clientel, i own a business and the frist year we had like 30 customers the whole YEAR!

Now 7 years later i have over 300 and some are multi thousand dollar accounts, but relative to me its fine. I dont need 3000 customers because i wont even be able to cater to them all anyway. PGI is NOT EA or Bethesda and does not have a Fan boy collection of 45,000 strong, thats just the way it is. But they dont need that either, go take a look at some of the player counts on Steam games, MWO is right there with the majority of them aside from big ones like LoL, WoW, Terra...but if you can see the theme there, those ARE NOT FPS and are in fact not even in the same realm for comparison.

The fact you think if a game doesn't have 2/3rd of North American playing it means it sucks shows how little you know about business, consumers or even the world. If they are making money, keeping fans happy and the lights ans servers on what the hell is the problem?

ELO is why you are seeing the same peeps as well as the time you drop....I cannot tell you how many time i have dropped with Lord Scarlett Johan over the past few weeks in both the SOLO and GROUP queues.

Not that im complaining...he is a good teammate and always a formidable foe!

Because he has a false idea of how many people each games had...people look at the big ones like LoL and WoW and see 1 million users and think anything with less then that is **** and can go to hell.

Popularity contests dont make a game good.

Actually if we want to be specific, people were saying the game is doomed, and will die before funding was even raised. I'm not exaggerating here. Before the Founders packs were even offered for sale, people were saying the game will die in 2 months.

I'm sure some logic follows that match maker will grab the same light, medium ect. as filled the place last time again...

It's when I say 'Hi again (so n so)" and they snub me, that ranckles my feathers.

You can see all the units in Tuk and their numbers somewhere (Google Spread sheet)....its like 250+ units. Id say the avg number of members would be about 35-45. Basing this off the 17,500 or so that participated.

So that's between 8,820-11,340 people in units and about 6,160-8,680 Pugs and Solo pilots. Im sure im way off but thats my stab at it. Did i just say Units were the majority?
