Jump speed doesn't have anything to do with aiming, aiming is done on the way down so... no.

I just want a somewhat realistic feel to the jump jets, not something I would expect to see in a cartoon, instantaneous acceleration and such, which is NOT realism. What is more realistic is a slow initial acceleration upwards that increases over time. Watch a rocket launch.

I'm not even worried about poptarting. I can poptart now if I wanted to, but I can do more damage with other strategies so why bother.

But... the Jumpjets excel @ hovering!

Not gonna start a new topic for this.

The Executioner, Maneuverability, Jump Jets

Well, now I have a jumping Assault of my own like Bishop Steiner and others have had with IS Assaults and can see better what that is like along with the MASC, tried both and some other stuff on Testing Grounds.

See this video?

About 2:05, Kanajashi talks about the Executioner and its Maneuverability.

MASC is too new to tell yet if it is worth it as designed. I did discover you can push all the way up to just below redline, about 70-71 on the scale, and get 8 seconds of speed followed by 35 seconds of cooldown to 0.

Jump Jets, first off I do not know how Kanajashi has a video of a Executioner jumping like that, sailing through the air because mine DOESN'T. It moves slow as molasses, actually that may move faster. For clearer reference, here is an image I once did for another topic.
Spoiler

See those Yellow lines? those are spots where I can take an Awesome and using zig-zag movement, climb from the bottom to the top. Lights have more places they can do that including those Yellow ones and they usually do not have to zig-zag.

Now I can take an Executioner and try jumping from bottom to top.
First use of all JJ fuel gets me halfway up the wall.
Second use of a full tank barely gets me to the top right on the lip but I cannot move, I need to add a third short burst before I can move at all.

That's pretty funky.

I remember when I last used my 7JJ Griffens, I could sail across canyons on that map, I am sure walls were no problem for them. I am gonna have to spend some break time trying other JJ Mechs there to see how they wall climb, should be good for comparison, I guess I should limit them all to 4JJ like the Executioner then see how the different JJ classes stack up wall climbing on Canyon Network. I would make a video of the comparison but do not have the tools, maybe someone with the time, software, equipment and Mechs (you should have a few from each of the 5JJ Classes, preferably 5 total 1 from each class) can record that, it would give a visual reference for discussion.

I still have to try MASC while turning, it is supposed to give a 25% bonus, the question is is that better, equal or worse than using 1JJ?

Torso twist is tough given the limited range, only the Dire Wolf, some Stalkers and Battlemasters are worse but I am fine with this.

#LegoPirates - There have been numerous complaints about jumpjets and in particular class 1 jumpjets are there any plans to revisit and revise jumpjets since its still not beneficial to take more than 1 jumpjets.

* A change is coming in July 7th for Class 1 Jumpjets. Bigger initial boost, more thrust but less available fuel. Going go a little higher and get there faster

Faster jump movement for less fuel thus less height.
Bunny Hopping Assaults incoming. (Not to be confused with Poptarts.)

By "less available fuel" I hope that Russ meant that the fuel reserve is depleted faster because of greater thrust and bigger initial boost. The reachable height can stay the same.
