All quirks is HERE. Never look them in mechlab...

Nice, but are you going to keep this thing updated instantly and forever? They build that feature into the game, it is nice to be able to not have to search a database or a website when you want to see this stuff. I am trying to bring attention to it so they FIX THE PROBLEM, not use bandages that we the customer have to make. PGI needs to do their job.

Sweet Lord put Mechlab back to a more useable state. Mechlab v1 was more useful than this.

Yeah, it hurts my eyes trying to see where all of my weapons are and I really hate using the mech select from CW.

Can't even try the new Expanded Mechlab because my monitor doesn't support 1600x900...

And the new UI 2.0 is inferior to the old one... which is still inferior to UI 1.5! *sigh*

Maybe next year I'll see something that isn't a clickfest. A beautiful UI that shows my mech stats, my mech model, and my equipped items (wpns, modules, cockpit items) all at a glance.

If only PGI just could have made v1.5 scale and have the new matchmaking functions.

I have now tested the new mechbay, and I gotta say it is a major improvement on the old one..

Here I will list the things I DON'T like about it:

1) The Expanded view prevents the user from seeing the visual of the spinning mech. The mech needs to be visible, and also the ability to flip it around needs to be added to the home screen
2) The different weapons and equipment colors are to bright or too "loud". Tone them down a notch.
3) It is now very complicated to select a mech. It's nice to filter only clan or IS mechs, but add an option without those filters (All owned mechs)
4) SAVE LOADOUT!! For friggins friggs's sake, why can't we save a loadout variant and load it as needed? Every time when I want to switch between a brawler and LRM build, i have to rebuild the whole mech, instead of doing it once and saving the various loadouts?! Biggest let-down of the new mechbay..
5)The fonts you used seem kinda... off.. like stretched, or something.. i don't like them...

Wow, I love how it's so simple to install an engine now. You have to look at the price tag, if it's a free engine, then comes from your spare parts.
Thanks to ake the mechlab so entertaining as priving so many ranges of emotion. <_<

New mechlab interface is great but I feel that the screen which will be used the most, the mech selection screen, is a step back from the old mech selection screen. Be great if you could have the old mech selection UI with the new loadout UI.

It's been said already but treat this as an extra vote on these things.
1) PLEASE REVERT MECH SELECTION TO THE PREVIOUS STYLE!!!
2) Buying a new mech is only possible from the store? What?
3) Allow us to save different loadouts for a given chassis, that you can swap between in a single click (Given you have all the items needed)

I just wish you guys would stop doing that thing you do all the time, that in fixing one thing you break another one that didn't need fixing in the first place. It's like you cannot do 2 steps ahead without a step back... Anyway, for the most part a great and welcome improvement.

For this ... this bad. Why not mix the mechlab 1.1 2.0? I want back the old and Mech Select how much easier it like this and like crap. Why you PGI always go backwards, you even think that what this good! For example the automatic button click on the object that will soon to the site and the best mech scene lab 1 and because we can not put the armor in writing, as did like the smurfy! Last note should listen to who pays and who does not like it plays occasionally, and was written on the forum that this ******** was bad. Up to a close and work more because our money and not to play.

After a bit more of a play, I say that the mech selection kills the new UI. Upto 6 clicks plus save time just to look at another mech...
Bring back the mech selection of the previous UI, even make it the home tab instead. Id much rather have the last UI for just that one feature.

why are all my mechs (which were easily visible before) hidden under dozens of menus and selections now? this is absolutely frustrating to use.

one step forward with the mechlab (it has issues but overall better than before) 2 steps backwards with mech selection. it takes 4-5 clicks to get to a mech now instead of a single click. Less is more when it comes to UI interaction.

You should be prompted to save mech configuration info when moving away from the mech lab as well, its just confusing having it still open unsaved in the background while your doing other stuff.

most people can't even use the expanded version because of the resolution
'Most'. In 2015.
In a game where the graphics cards required for the minimum spec of the game can support up to 2048x1536 resolution.
Where (steam) statistics show roughly 80% of people use a resolution greater equal to or greater than 1600x900.

ok so you moved cbill mechs into what was previously the cash store. makes sense I suppose but not an obvious place to look for existing people. quirks show up there but not in the mechlab when mousing over your owned mechs. At least the back button does actually go back to where you were previously although it seems to have disappeared from random screens.

The ability to edit mechs that you don't yet own is a GREAT bonus that I wasn't expecting. nice work on that one.
They were always there, just the Store was more cumbersome than the mechlab method.

I'm not too fussed about that though, gives the store more reason to exist I guess.

At the end of the day, options for thumbnail + tree would be good.
Slightly better support for Legacy hardware would be nice.
Overall though, it is an improvement.

I like the ability to edit a mech without purchasing it first, that's a major bonus I wasn't expecting so no longer have to use the web mechbay (which doesn't work now in browser anyway).

it seems there is a weird bug this patch... i twice connected to games which i didn't search for
first time i was killed being afk, second time managed to survive and even to fight a bit, but i'm scared to hold the game folded to the taskbar now

using the new mechlab is painful, and I am apologizing now, but that nerf to the game as a whole will mean I will not be purchasing any cataphract gifts tomorrow, I do not feel that paying into a game that continues to break itself is productive in my world (not even as a gift for others)

One of the most annoying parts about this UI, apart from the terrible Mech Select layout, is that select mechs, configuring mechs and purchasing mechs must now all be done in their own seperate tab.

Before:
Use Mechlab tab. Click a mech thumbnail to select it for launch.
Click the Configure button to change loadout.
Click "Purchasable" from dropdown menu to buy new mechs.

Now:
Use Home tab and click Select Mech, then scroll through chassis types and click the chassis you want then click the variant then click save to be ready for launch.
Use Mechlab tab to configure loadout, don't forget to click Expanded in the dropdown menu for an easier time.
Use Store tab to buy new mechs, going through the same abysmal layout from the Select Mech menu.

Just... why?
you can select mechs from the mechlab, you don't need to go to the Home tab.

The graphics card should.
Your monitor though?

My graphics card can support up to 4 displays at 4096x2160 each and output in 3D if I wanted.
My primary monitor is a Truecolour CAD monitor with a resolution of 1680x1050, my secondary is and old 4:3 capped at 1280x1024.

My fiancee's monitor is a reasonably cheap new monitor (cost around £60 including delivery), and can do double the resolution of mine (though not in truecolour! :D)

1366x768 is likely an older 18" monitor or laptop?

I'm not saying it shouldn't scale, hopefully they'll sort it, just it isn't a crazy minimum.

what do you consider older? My Toshiba Satellite has not changed its hardware since '09, but has updated drivers and software. No issues doing anything except making my monitor useless to this game, making my experience so much less than desirable, to have given money to a company to have them make their product nearly unusable every month or 2, then re-patching the garbage back out, breaking other stuff in the process... my machine isn't the problem, the problem is that the developers do not give a flying rat's rear end about the folks playing this game. I will be buying a single cataphract to give back to my benefactor to give to someone else, as I may not be playing much, if at all, any longer. The breaking of the game has made me very intolerant of their lacking in game development experience and is tearing this franchise apart, as evidenced by the immense amount of backlash PGI receives EVERY patch...

Now, to everyone who says the monitors are cheap and easy to acquire... let me guess, you are not on a heavily fixed income, you aren't disabled and buying things to you is no big deal... I scrape by and usually have to save money to be able to get anything, let alone electronics gear for a game that continues to fail its customers...

You see, if it was my equipment, then I would be the only one with the issue, not the 12 pages of the same complaint I make... good luck out there guys, I hope that PGI gets their heads out of their collective asses long enough to realize that they continue alienating the bulk of their customer base and continue to show that their income from this game is irrelevant, I mean come on, the resistance and invasion events were just another form of cash grab. I don't mind cash grabs as long as they lead to the betterment of the game, not leading to its detriment...

All through Open Beta PGI took several vacations, right at crucial moments in the dev process, they have their own set of issues that IGP had nothing to do with, and it is being shown on a daily basis with things like ignoring the PTS input and doing what they want to anyway. Why have us give any input at all if the devs are going to do what they want to anyway?

WD on patch. I like Mech Lab, though will take some getting used to.

Is it possible to bind the 'ESC' key to cancel though please?

It's not only about this, both my monitor and card support that resolution and much more for example, but to play at the FPS I want I have to run the game at 1366x768, so I can't see the full mechlab unless I always switch, and the column one is just plain bad.
