The issue reported in this thread: http://mwomercs.com/...up-as-of-13395/ has not been resolved nad there has been no reply to it or the related support ticket. Whats up?
I'd like to know if I have hope of ever playing the game again or not.

Unfortunately your configuration is not supported. Wine is not an acceptable substitute for pure Windows. Some recent changes absolutely require Windows and there is no known workaround.
Really sorry about this. Is it at all possible to get a copy of Windows and perhaps run a dual boot or something along those lines?

It's theoretically possible, but since MWO is the only game or piece of software I'd need it for, the idea is not exactly tempting. I have had a lot of fun with MWO, but all of the other games I play run natively on Linux already (thanks to Valve for bringing Steam to Linux) except for EVE Online, which has semi-official support for Wine compatibility, so that's a lot of hoops to jump trough just for one game, no matter how fun.
I'll consider the possibility for a few days and then I will probably ask for a refund for my prerelease purchase and move on.
Thank you for the reply. It is nice to have a confirmation that some change really did make that dramatic of a difference.
