Either mech would be a nice choice, honestly.

Well, they're better than the normal Trial Mechs. That means that they're better options for the Pugs. Stop being selfish. I, for one, rather like the notion of being able to determine what the next Champion Mech will be.
Champions are also given away on occasion. In such a situation, I'd rather get a Mech that's already set for the field, rather than one I'll have to re-kit. That alone is enough incentive.
But, if you insist on being bitter, then you can go someplace else or start your own thread and gripe about it all.

Ah, Being one of those "if you don't agree with me don't post" types? Good to know. Cheers.

Gotta agree with Nightmare1 on this one, Bishop. The Champions' alternative loadouts make for much better Trial mechs for the new players. Yes, a lot of the Champion loadouts are questionable (especially with shifts in the meta, game mechanics, and quirks), but they are still better suited to play than the stock mechs, which just make new players sitting ducks.

IIRC, we get to build out loadouts based on the winning chassis/variant.
If we leave it to PGI's own devices... well, your expectation is warranted.

You are far more a debbie downer than I am on this topic. Is this opposite day?
They simply need to revamp @ Champion bonus from XP to C-bills. That would at least justify their cost in MC honestly.
Anything outside of that is insane IMO, because Champions don't excite me for an XP bonus (I have 600+k GXP as it is).

tis the point. Yes we need better than stock trials. But Champions themselves, as a product are a horribly flawed concept, from the poor builds put on them, to the XP bonus over Cbills. I can't imagine they actually sell many, although people never fail to surprise me with what they don't think through.
If they actually revamped the Champion Concept to something useful, and made the actual Builds ones the Community could vote on, I'd be all for it.
But now you made me come back and be a debbie downer, and the OP doesn't like people being debbie downers on HIS Post. So gotta go.

I just don't have patience for trolls or thread derailers. This thread is for voting and discussing the Mechs; not for dissuading people from voting.
Sometimes you have great posts and sometimes you have some that are not so great. Your participation in this thread falls under the latter category.

That is exactly what this poll, and thread, are about!
You're kind of clueless this time around Bishop! Let me spell it out for you:
The community votes on the next Champion Chassis.
The winning Chassis gets a thread for us all to supply our personal builds, just like the Re-Build Threads that were up under Developer Outreach recently. The Community then votes, with "Likes," for their favorite builds. PGI takes the build with the most "Likes" and makes it into a Champion.
There is you community input, design, and voting all right there. What on earth are you so cranky about???

Well, the poor builds were primarily the fault of... people that generally have no idea why their builds are bad in MWO. It's a sad thing.
However, I think that people overvalue (or have no idea what the actual value) of the stuff proposed are... I think the only real reason people bought them is to avoid the indirect grind (some chassis have good engines) or supporting PGI... but not for the "it's a good idea/design" thing (Jenner-F with 3 Meds+3 SL is just another example of it).

Well, see it's ironic that it took 2 Community Managers later to get to this point. Remember the first Dragon-5N Champion? It was suggested when it happened that it would be a regular thing.
Of course, that never happened once the 2nd Champion was released... so this is what.. 2 or so years later, we finally get a word? I feel like "a position at the time" answer is warranted.

You don't have to be dramatic. Gotta treat people the way you want to be treated... or... /sigh
I dunno... I feel like PGI's murdered the NPE many times over, so it's hard to feel hopeful, and an easy win for community interaction/involvement.. but...
It is what it is.

What were previous vote totals? Phoenix had near 1000 after a day or two.
