I just don't have patience for trolls or thread derailers. This thread is for voting and discussing the Mechs; not for dissuading people from voting.

Sometimes you have great posts and sometimes you have some that are not so great. Your participation in this thread falls under the latter category.

So to be fair, Bishop proves he is a fallible human being and not some divine entity. Good to know. It makes him more likable in my book.

I hate seeing folks I like squabble. Differences in opinions should not lead to more than good natured pokes at each other.

What really disturbs me is the total number of votes.
What were previous vote totals? Phoenix had near 1000 after a day or two.

It's telling, isn't it?

Yeah, I was out of patience though and expected better from him. I think I've been too active on the forums lately; it's starting to feel like the threads are eating at me a bit.

Back to page one you go!

Vote now all! The poll is pretty tough to find, so use the link on the first page to access it!

Who are the sick, demented masochists that are voting for the PNT-10P?

As much as I wanted to, I didn't vote for it. My raven could do the same essential build if I wanted to.

Gotta agree with Nightmare1 on this one, Bishop. The Champions' alternative loadouts make for much better Trial mechs for the new players. Yes, a lot of the Champion loadouts are questionable (especially with shifts in the meta, game mechanics, and quirks), but they are still better suited to play than the stock mechs, which just make new players sitting ducks.

Until shs has a viable use in pug play by either lv1/official stock only mode or just something to make them with taking in general builds, I agree with this. Though I'd like to see a reason for shs in regular/cw play on more mechs

I heard that! That dude on the Dear PGI Thread is really bugging me; I can't seem to get away from him. Wish he'd leave me be. :(

GHR-5P gets my vote, it's like a faster slimmer wubshee with jumpjets and standard engine, I love it. You can build it like a little brother to the XL wubshee as well, or with a rainbow of wubs. But it seems like the 4R has secured the lead.

Honestly it is totally stupid to vote for this, I could see it if there was a vote for a variant and build for each chassis, but one single mech and no influence over the build? Meh.

You're the second person to gripe about not having influence over the build.

Here it is, plain and simple:

1) PGI polls us for the next Champion Mech.

2) We vote.

3) PGI creates a build thread for the Champion Mech much like it did for the recent Champion Re-Build thread in the Developer Outreach forum.

4) We post our builds.

5) The community "votes" on the builds with "likes."

6) PGI takes the winning build and turns it into the next Champion Mech.

How does that preclude you from having any influence in the process? Did you not even bother reading the official announcement or any of the information surrounding this entire issue?

Poll's been open over a week now and has half the votes of Phoenix.

The Phoenix poll was about re-offering Project Phoenix for sale, which people cared about. A large segment of the community does not care about Champion mechs.

Not buying it. I recall when the Dragon Champ was made, plenty of people cared.
When later Champs came out, plenty of people cared especially if they thought the design was bad. Stalker with an XL?
In the Champ redesign threads, plenty of designs and people liking posts.
Seems there are enough who do.

But it is not just about this poll being for a Champ, it is also about how over time some have said they are fed up/tired/insert reason with this game for insert reason and will not put more money into it. I missed seeing how many voted in Founders poll to see if there is a declining trend in voter numbers.

The poll is closed! Looks like the ENF-4R won. Yay!

Total vote count for all chassis is 1,255. This basically matches the number of "No" votes we saw with the Phoenix Poll and is roughly 1,000 votes less than the total number of Phoenix votes for either "Yes" or "No."

Watch the forums for PGI's build thread! I'll be posting my bad-to-the-bone, kick-butt Enforcer build there. Be sure to upvote it! B)

The polls are still available for viewing:
  • Founders poll - 2,455 votes for which map to redo first
  • Phoenix poll - 2,205 votes for whether or not to re-open the original Phoenix pack
  • Resistance poll - 1,255 votes for which Resistance 'mech should get a Champion first
So yes, declining voter turnout. Why?
  • It's been three polls over the course of less than a month. Poll fatigue.
  • Also, maps are probably more interesting to vote on than Champion 'mechs. Phoenix turned out to be a bit of a hot-button topic, so that might explain why there were almost as many votes on that one as on the founder one.
  • Finally, there was at one point roughly 70,000 founders - I seriously doubt there were anywhere near that many Phoenix and Resistance packs sold put together.
