That is entirely an unfair brush to paint PGI with. The original plan was for a PVE title called MW5, remember. Zero investment dollars showed. Thus the F2P Online modeled got the call and has succeeded where the other had failed.

To say now they did not give the players what they wanted is simply BS. Now with more control they are working on it. How in hell can a Dev Group be expected to build an Online game and a PvE version at the same time and not make everyone pissed off.

PvE was never on the table until very recently. Remember they broke the only "Magic Wand of Make Everything Now" Wand back some time ago. :)

I agree with you on the PVE aspect. Damn, we've agreed like three times this week wtf. However, you took it too far. PGI has a long history of waving a "Magic Wand of Can't Fix it so Just Remove it." They also have a long history of lying and spitting in the communities face with things like 3rd person and consumables. HOWEVER, when it comes to PVE, they indeed have always been firm about making an arena shooter, and nothing more.

TBH, I think the actual reviewing process isn't actually done, but paid for.

I mean, why would all of a sudden where Tuesday had to be the day that the mechlab have to go live?

Currently the gaming industry and the online gaming reviews (not talking about metacritic, but more like PC Gamer in general) are not really set up to report the reality. They're more or less paid pieces for every game's PR... or they'll never get to preview the game. It's always been the looming threat, and for the most part why gaming journalism (and certain other types of journalism) has lowered in any sort of journalism standards... only for the money and access.

Game company has big upcoming patch/expansion/whatever. Gaming company sends out notice to publishers with a breakdown of said launch. Publishers cover. Plus if anyone pays attention to any news source they will notice that they often swipe all of their info from other articles in an attempt to grab clicks and not be left not covering a story.
