Went into a drop crimson straight. Pushed tunnel with my team. Some mech pops out from around the corner and cores my cockpit. Same mech pops out a second time and head shot me again. Dead with 95% armor. Is the cockpit hitbox enormous?

Only been driving them for 2-3 months but I would say no.... even when shutdown(overheating) I noticed a Light mech trying that but failed... I"ve been headshotted in CAtapults more than any other mech (supposedly PGI fixed that but who knows.. I rarely pilot CAtapults anymore)..

I would say it was one shot in a million and you just got unlucky

Not big, but right in the CT.

I haven't had a lot of luck Poking a Dire's eyes out. And I like doing that.

I was headshotted quite a number of times in the whale and the timby (mostly dual gauss) don't know if its bad luck or the hitboxes.

i think its because their head hitboxes are dead center (where every body normally aims)

I honestly, have no idea where the head hitbox is for it.

I've tried multiple times to headshot a shutdown Whale, but i can never figure out which window to shoot at. With most IS mechs, it's pretty obvious, but with them clanners... I've no idea.

This. Not huge, but hittable and dead center so you get 'em by accident some. That goes for TBR too.

It doesn't happen often. I just was amazed that this pilot shot the same place twice in a row.

Once you get a hang of hitting cockpits it's not terrible hard to do, especially if you get the time to set up a shot. That early in the game there wouldn't have been anyone expecting it either. I've seen a couple "headshot hunters" running around with LLs and the zoom module. Sometimes they make it work, but most of them either have their sensitivity up too high or are just bad shots.

The longer I look at the Dire Wolf the more I realize the ENTIRE UPPER TORSO is over-sized, compared to the concept art and previous Dire Wolf iterations.

I know there are plenty of mechs that could stand better proportions, but the DWF is just so ostentatious.

Aye.
A lot of mechs seem to be mis-proportioned when compared to their concept art.

It all started with the Centurion.

not that I have ever noticed. Sometimes lucky hits happen.

I just don't get it. The arms and the legs are perfect, but the torso is just so god awfully huge.

One can never be sure about these things.

During the recent resistance event i saw one particular enemy pilot (among top 5 on all 4 categories...yes all categories) to suspiciously know the exact position of everyone on our team no matter how they moved around as if seeing through transparent walls in frozen city. moving and pre-shooting his lasers before coming out of cover.
On the other hand there is the possibility of an enemy UAV too... hard to notice in frozen city.

as i said one can never be sure.

Yup, we can not be 100% sure. Report it and let PGI sort through their data and determine the appropriate course of action.
