I have the 2A and have a blast in it. Would the X5 be a good choice for one of the other 2 for mastering the chassis?

Running the 2 srm2's with the 25% cooldown quirk looks like a missile spamming good time.

If so I may pick it up while it's on sale.

If you enjoy Cicadas the x-5 is a good mech. The ml range quirk is pretty sweet too. Just don't let the extra range lull you into long distance poking or your srms aren't worth much to you.

My normal ride:

With the ML range module.

Bestest match with the X-5

But i am tempted to run 4ML, 2LRM5...for da trollish.

If I build this load out are these results guaranteed or my money back?

I think it requires being a damn good knife fighter. I've done OK in it, and my CDA B is a great ride. But this one isn't quite matching it for me.

X-5 is kinda odd.

Stock build is OK but...using ANY other missile is a waste because it only has 4 tubes total. Streaks may work well but...kinda skimpy damage.

I mainly run 1lpl,3ml becaue the range and duration synch pretty well at 400 optimal. Peek-a-boo pokes all day.

...sure.

Rebate comes in the mail soon™.

I normally rake in 1+ kill and 500+ damage with my build. I normally support the heavies.

That match was kinda a perfect storm. There was a brutal brawl and they were hiding in the basement so we went for a base cap.
They came out and a mini brawl ensued. They were all cored...we were not.

…well, there went my hopes of making top 50 on the leaderboard. DARN. I’ve only approached that once, back with the still overquirked Wubverine in the last match I got to play in it the night before it got rebalanced. :P

Might have to try that one out too, even not liking asymmetrical builds if possible.

EDIT: But why the Beagle? I'd drop that and 1 HS to use a 320 any day for the extra speed. Or even two HS and go the 330!

Because BAP is very helpful for cutting through ECM, especially in the game these days with so many mechs carrying it. For a tiny bit less speed, you are able to cut through it, and that is hugly helpful, so your team knows where the enemy is, and can also get support fire on top of it.

The cicada is the perfect mech for it as well, as really the best engine for these mechs is the XL-300, and it has enough weight to add some extra tools, (namely BAP) You really can't find a more perfect medium to run a bap than a cicada, especially when their duty is often to track down those pesky lights.

I own the 2A, But if i had to do over again i would pick up the 2B, for my money, 5 medium pulse lasers are just better than 6 ML's. The 2A runs really hot, and honestly, i think i would rather run a jenner if i was going the 6 ML route.

Round out the collection with the 3M, unless you really wan't to try the 3C.. with a crazy quirked ERPPC sniper, and 4 machine guns. Fun mech, but kinda nitch.

Definitely not doing as well as I'd hoped in this challenge. Seem to be stalled out in the 70s range. How anyone can have a score almost twice what I've posted so far as the current head of the X5 board has blows my mind! Because these have not been bad matches for me by any means. (300-500 damage, 1-3 kills and many assists each match, etc)

I think group drops might be effecting this somehow. I got into the low 30's...now im in the 70's.

Maybe group dropping affords more opportunities to score?

Just checked the leaderboard and highest points are Ilya at 3721, Heavy Metal at 3588 followed close by the X-5 at 3533!

70 ton in the lead then a 90, followed close behind by a 40!

That speaks well to the quality of the mech and pilots!

Great job!

I got sucked into the "I wonder how high I can get in a TDK" mentality and ended up neglecting my X-5 :( Turns out I'm not that good. But, I have built a reasonable facsimile of InspectorG's LPL, 3 ml build that I am going to experiment with for awhile.

I'd be really curious to see what psichih0lic plays, because that score is ridiculous! VERY curious about build.

Not to presume, but i doubt its solo drops.

Rumors of Teams 'feeding kills' to help scores. I wouldnt call it cheating or exploit...because it does require skill.

Maybe separate leaderboards are needed.

But i only dropped like 20 times. *shrug*
