The UI needs to be resizable for large resolutions.

Here's an example of the Store (notice it's only using about 10% of the screen real estate):

Here is an example of the Mech Selection window (again, 10% of the screen real estate):

Another bad example of how terrible the UI scales.... PGI UI Developer > ever heard about working with percentages?

This is not a new issue. Even at 1080p, large parts of the screen remain unused. It gets bad at my native 2560x1600. I have to say, though, 4K looks downright hilarious.

PGI says they are looking into doing something for higher resolutions. Soon™.

I'm on a 32" 4k with dual GTX980s. The UI is microscopic. Trying to edit a mech gives me a migraine. Even though Windows is scaling at 150%, MWO does nothing. That's going to be a growing issue as people upgrade to newer monitors.

The UI is so bad at 4K that after one match yesterday, I just gave up. The font being horribad doesn't help at all.

I was looking at coming back after a long hiatus but guess what, nope.

Until the UI is fixed for high resolutions... I'll stay in other games.

Easy fix, don't play in 4k at this time.

Why should I lower my resolution since my system is quite capable at running every game I play at 4K resolution with max settings.

It's just inept and lazy devs that do not take into account the fact that this is year 2015 and 4K gaming is a fact, not some wet dream like it was when MWO came out.

Granted, MWO isn't the only game that has UI problems at 4K but it's quite literally the worst of them.

Or you know, PGI could fix the problem. 4k gaming is here and now, and it's only going to become more popular. Every other game I play works perfectly in 4k. While it could use further SLI optimization, the MWO game play itself is pretty awesome at 4k, but the UI blows. It's my understanding that the UI is Flash based, and as such it should be a piece of piss to get it to scale properly. It just doesn't seem like there has been any action on PGI's part to do so.

UI scaling has been a thing since at least Windows 95. Think about that for a second. 1995. 2015. PGI's UI person (or people) are 20 years behind. Yeah.
