the DWF-W has 2 energy in the CT, other than that I do not see it offering anything the other Dire Wolves do not, most of its omnipods have very few hardpoints compared to other DWF variants which could be a good thing if PGI ever decides to nerf the Dire Wolf ^{(although in my opinion the small fixed engine is already penalty enough)}.

so unless you specifically want a set of low hardpoint omnipods or a pair of lasers in your CT I do not think it would be worthwhile ^{(however I am hopeless in the DWF anyway so may not be the best person to offer advice on this)}

If you mean saving $, I'd consider shifting your focus to saving CB, as the second wave of reinforcements should be available for MC&CB fairly soon, I think.
