The top of the leaderboards for the current tournament are really high.

I'm not a terrible player. In solo queue I'm always at (or near) the top of the match score. While writing this I'm some place around 35th on the board. To get to the top I would need 3 solo kills a game for every game.

Assuming you didn't do even 1 point of team damage let's guess at the numbers in a pug drop:

800 damage (800/15) = 53

2 solo kills = (30 + 20 + 10)X2 =120

10 kill assists (10X9) = 100

Win = 10

Survive = 10

Total = 293 X 10 = 2930

For me that would be a really good game, and that's still not enough to get to the top of some of the leaderboards. Crazy!

That and why is the IV Four not listed on the hero mech list?

Old? Yes. Crappy? Not all of them.

Some chassis might be, but the Ilya Murromets and Yen Low Wang are still good and productive chassis. The Ilya has shown me that it can Still wreck.

The leaderboard is crazy. I made it as high as 29 yesterday evening. I might not be in the top 50 today :/

Edit: 64 this morning.

Good hero mechs are coming on a later event. No one would buy this junk if the good mechs were 50% :P

I don't normally play anything but Atlases.

So the fact that after 5 matches in either a Wang or Ilya I'm in just over 1,100th place on the 2 boards, does not surprise me.

And that's why you fail. Trying to run 3 A/C10s is a terrible build. You run fragile and slow. Put that build in any mech of the same weight and it too will be terrible.

Always an option. I think Bishop also said he was running that. I do like the dakka-ness of the A/C5s though.

Not a bad accumulated score for an old and crappy hero mech. Good job.

OP, if you are solo player you will almost never get to top score. The top guys usually play in groups and feed kills to one guy. Then they get like 3500 score at the end of the day.

Basically, once the score passes 2400 you need 3 solo kills two other kills and a couple top damage dealt to move the board.

Sounds hard in the solo queue but I guess if you are in a big unit with lots of members and do lots of drops you'll often end up having a couple of people from the same unit by law of average.

Let's see if you can keep it then. The event is still young.

I bought the Death Knell just for this tournament. I had saved up 1375MC from other tournaments and at 50% off I thought what the heck.

I'm actually enjoying the little guy. I've got a LL, 2MPL an XL195 and full armour. I don't find the mech crappy at all.

Got the XL280, 3 AC10 and Endo... 3 tons left for ammo. FFA wouldn't give enough mass and taking armor off seems a bad trade for ammo of a medium range gun. I don't see how to make it durable.

It's not even kills that get you the points though, it's solo kills. Without solo kills there's no way to get the numbers required for the top of the board. And it has to be multiple solo kills every game.
