Basically, once the score passes 2400 you need 3 solo kills two other kills and a couple top damage dealt to move the board.
Yup, hit that plateau a few times in the other tournaments. It's doable, even solo, but you have to grind so many matches for the odds to line up, especially with the lovely Win and Loss streaks the MM puts you through. If you don't have all weekend to devote, or get REAL lucky and get bad teams on both sides (if your team is actually good, you will never grab super high scores as they too will be wrecking stuff.... ).
Or, as Bandito suggested, have teams feed stuff to you, though with the solo kill requirement that's harder to do. Probably why it was added, as certain units were pretty well known for tactics like that in the past (or having multiple player suse one guys account to grind the weekend)
Gotta love people so pathetic they gotta cheat to win a Participation Award on a Video Game.

Let's see if you can keep it then. The event is still young.
I held 2nd in the HBK Founders challenge for 2 solid days, but had IRL the last 2. Ended at 15th (was 16th til one person ahead of me got banned for cheating.... so officially, I am 16th still, I guess).
Yup. The Grind and law of averages. You got to be good, but you also have to play either a crap ton of matches, get REAL lucky, or have ..... alternative methods.

Got the XL280, 3 AC10 and Endo... 3 tons left for ammo. FFA wouldn't give enough mass and taking armor off seems a bad trade for ammo of a medium range gun. I don't see how to make it durable.
and that is why it's a BAD build. I have seen people manage to rock the 250xl with 3 LBX but even that was few and far between.
And a few people manage to make the Triple Gauss work.... as long as nobody closes with them.

The XL with the 3 tons ammo is the bad part for sure. 45 rounds over 3 cannons will go fast. It might be doable (if not light in ammo) with 2 A/C10s, but definently not 3.
No backup energy once ammo is gone (soon) is bad. So, now you step down your engine to a 260 or something for more ammo or energy. Now you are painfully slow and not maneuverable.
Triple A/C10 SOUNDS awesome, but not a great idea in a Phract. The trip 5s are more doable if you want to do multiple ballistics. A/C5 quirk to cool down, an A/C5 cool down module, and STD 280 ~285 (durable and quick) seems to be the way to go for a dakka build. You can do a STD 290, but 4.5 tons of ammo is too little. Even 5 tons with a 280 or 285 is light, but I find it acceptable with some trigger discipline.
I don't think I ever tried the 2 LLaser, 1 A/C20 build, but I may try it in my 3D.
P.S. If you like that build and want something a bit crazy. Look at this...

340xl, 2ac10, 2 Mlasers and maxi armor allow for 7 tons of ammo. Used that for a long time before the focus fire alphas got to be too crazy.
