Some of you guys must not have played many MMOs in the last decade or so. Throttling is a very common chat feature that prevents people spamming the chat for whatever reason (gold farmers, people just generally being douchey etc). 5 minutes feels like an eternity when you just have to say something, but it's not that long. It does suck when it kicks in when all you are trying to do is correct a typo or get people co-ordinated, but them's the breaks.

Got throttled tiday just for answering someone who was spamming faction chat, while he continued sending on short sentence after another.

Except this forum has a ****** search function. It shows the oldest threads first or /ascending (oldest to newest). When I do a search I use google w/ site:mwomercs.com at the end of it, then use google tools/time/sort function.

If the general search function worked in the same way as when doing a search via a player's profile, posts, find content the show the last one updated /descending (newest to oldest) then we would then be in business.

throttling is ok to prevent people from using macros to spam the chat box, but it kicks in way too soon. if you type fast you can get throttled just having a normal conversation. and i dont hear anyone complaining about chat spam. communication features shouldn't actively impede communication.

Well, the Guy who spammed the chat was somehow avoiding being throttled, whereas i was throttled for simple trying to respond to him.

Write long posts, only for the chat box to occasionally eat it.

At this point, throttling is an an inconvenience for those that type in small chunks in chat.

We can't have nice things.
