I think it's spelled "Lich", like the Undead Sorcerers in many fantasy games/stories.

But yeah, it'd love the Reseens, but PGI probably doesn't want to risk it.

I am sure it will never happen. but I would love to see the Warhammer even the reseen version. For me the Warhammer is the iconic battletech mech. I want a Warhammer!

I'm reasonably certain Alex has given PGI a full spread of Macross redesigns ages ago, BUT...

As soon as they're announced, they will undergo microscopic scrutiny by the HG legal team, so whether or not they're similar or dissimilar, there's going to be a legal cost associated with their release.

This right here.

The Warhammer from the Mechwarrior Reboot trailer years back was still incredibly similar to how the original looked, and that's what got the project shut down and eventually what we got today. I'd heard there was a second trailer with a Rifleman but I never got to see that one, if it actually existed.

If, IF PGI does a Phoenix 2 set, HG will go over them with a microscope to find literally ANYTHING that they can to try and argue that the design is still theirs. The Warhammer arms and side torsos would be a *****, same with the Marauders arms.

I am an optimist and think that the forbidden mechs will come to Mechwarrior Online when its really popular! I can see it now Gold Marauder 800$. Actually I am kidding please dont. :)

It would be great to see the Unseen mechs in game some day though. Maybe the reseen versions will be good to although the Reseen Marauder looks to heavy to be 75 tons for instance.

You know, if you take the Unseen, make somewhat similar designs and call them different names, they will likely pass on the game.

But if you make dissimilar designs, and call them by the Unseen names, the lawyers will still fall upon you.

It's the complete opposite; the names are fine to use, the designs are not.

We can have all the Warhammers, Marauders, Crusaders, or Archers we like, but we cannot have
* Warhammers that look too much like the MBR-04-Mk.VI Destroid Tomahawk
* Marauders that look too much like the Glaug Zentradi Tactical Pods
* Crusaders that look too much like the VF-1A Armored Valkyries
* Archers that look too much like the MBR-07-Mk.II Destroid Spartan.

There's a full list of the Macross Unseen over at sarna.net, along with a condensed history of why and how they are Unseen, Reseen, or once-Unseen-but-now-okay (like the designs from Crusher Joe and Dougram who are our MWO Phoenix Pack 'mechs).

I will say this: there is one thing I am thankful to Microsoft for.

They gave us the Longbow in MW4:Mercs. The only Macross unseen since MW2, to my knowledge.

At least you pronounced it right. I've heard guys pronounce it "leech" and it makes me angry.
