Anything that works.

To be safe from being called a "tryhard," I recommend bracket, support and stock builds.

Or you could learn to play MWO and get to an Elo where no one will give you crap about doing it right.

Your choice.

Thanks for allowing CW in MWO. I'm grateful you gave your permission to allow a second game mode to be added to your game.

Now, let me just try and understand why you are upset. Let's see if I understand. You are angry because some players are modifying their mechs in a manner that appears on paper to be advantageous. They are then using these modified mechs to beat you at this game. And...you are frightened that continously facing players that are better than you is causing you to lose brain cells.

Let me put the few brain cells you have left at easy. Brain cells are destroyed through brain altering chemicals such as alcohol and drugs. You may also lose brain cells through a blow to the head causing phyical damage to the brain structure. So, unless you are are taking a shot each time you lose to a better player (one cheating by using the mechlab) or you beating yourself about the head and neck each time you lose to a better player (one building their mech using posted weapons stats) then your brain cells should remain intact...

What about to keep NOOBS away from my ELO???
I played 15k+ games and still getting first timers into my team???WTF PGI???

Your ELO is not based on the number of games you've played, it's based on your ability. I'm not suggesting a reason why there might be noobs in your game...I'm certainly not suggesting your ELO is such that you are constantly matched against noobs or anything like that...

It's not the Meta players, it's just that some players know to stay in a group and they almost always beat the teams that break up into smaller groups. Tell your teammates to form up into one group and see what happens.

It's the oldest gripe within the CW crowd. "Metas and Pre-Mades are ruining the fun." Please. With the addition of VOIP--there are no more excuses for not being able to mount a half-way decent attack and/or defense. The attack points and defense points on all of the maps are well-known to almost everyone who pays attention when they play this game mode.

Stay together, coordinate fire, coordinate attack times/defensive efforts and you'll win. If you don't...you still might win if you're lucky enough (but probably you won't). The only advantage that pre-mades or so called "meta" players have is that their teams follow directions of their drop commander and they know the maps. If you have some PUGs in your group that don't listen, bring awful builds/'mechs, don't know the maps, and bring things like...say, LRMs; you're not going to do well.

While we understand your lamentations about pug players not caring enough to learn the maps, strategies, or builds which most often contribute to victory; your complaints are without any merit. If you want to do better, try to take command next round in CW. Try to lead. Take better 'mechs. Try to motivate people in your queue to take better builds when you see that they're playing with sub-par builds in the game. Otherwise, your only alternative is to join a unit and play with a larger team. If you were to do that; you'd likely be happy with the results. Keep solo dropping into what is (in essence) a "team sport" against "teams" who play as a unit, then you're going to remain a grumpy guy.

MM is weird. Last night, most of my games were 2-12 or 12-2 stomps, hardly any close games. The worst was a 0-12 stomp when 2 people were AFK, and 1 disconnected.

I find games on days with higher populations (ie. lower search times, weekends) produces closer matches, instead of stomps. I actually think its a population problem, rather than meta, or something else.

MWO is hard and unforgiving. You don't have to use the latest cutting edge meta, but you do have to optimise and sort of follow the generally accepted builds.

I think there should be a single player campaign to cater for casuals and fluff players. The engine and system is pretty good.

I guess somebody is too used to getting participation ribbons in life. You will only get better if you challenge yourself to do so, If you lose and you gave it your best and played to the top of your skill then rest well knowing you have done so.

If your gona survive in this game ya gotta learn to take your lumps in stride, learn from your mistakes and others then move on.

Yes I know that this games mm is wonky and at times is not fair, just remember wins and losses usually come in streaks so don't despair if you lose several games in a row matchmaker will bounce back for you.

If you see people moving in questionable positions on the map voip them to regroup or at least back them up to try and get the best possible scenario out of it.

Point is there are probably many many more factors into whats causing you to lose games other than meta cheese.

Oh look another I'm entitled to win complain thread. Games are just like sports the better teams wins, or fighter.

You honestly sound like Mayweather, oh I can fight that dude his gloves are too heavy.

Get better at the game or quit, that is your options as it is with all games. It's not PGI's job to make you WIN. It's PGI's job to make the game not rig it. You're supposed to be happy you're playing a game with big stompy robots. If you only have fun when you win, then I suggest you go play some single player games on easy mode. I hate for you to walk into gamestop and tell them you want a refund because you got killed by the AI.

So many babies in this game... You must be about 18 or so, that entitled to win generation. Thanks to you guys games are too easy and are designed to keep you winning and you get used to that feeling.

You need to get your ass kicked to know that you have room for improvement. You have to want to improve, but you seem like your hand is held far to often. So I'm going to say you lack the ability to improve because you're not used to practicing.

Tja, that is the problem of a not working or not iavailable Match Maker.

MM does not work in any good way. It does not include enough varuiables to make a decent balanced match, ELO should just be one part of many. In group games and CW there is no MM at all, according by PGI they can't make a decent MM for this game modes long time ago.

I agree to have CW in this game due to one single reason - all so called "Meta" players are playing there instead of making public queue unplayable. I'm about to refund all my recent $175 worth payments and quit this game forever, but instead - I'm constantly taking a break to calm myself down and then to return to this game and give it another chance.

I have been playing another game for entire week. Then I decided to play MWO a little bit - I tried to play a pair of matches on weekend and tried to play today. And guess what? Game is completely unplayable now. Stomps, 2 second TTKs, oneshots, stomps and stomps again, again and again, And I guess it's due to all "Meta" players flooding public queue, because of public queue only event.

Keep them away from public queue, PGI! Because unplayable game - is absolutely not the best way to convince me not to quit this game. This game brings only one emotion - anger... And I don't want to kill my brain cells via being angry due to stupid video game. This is not what I'm paying for, sorry.

You know what the real problem is here ?
You are
You are the sole cause of your anger issues
Its not the guy jump sniping with a ppc
Its not the guy running clan gauss and ERLL
Its not the guy running crazy amounts of LRM hoping somebody brought a narc
Its not the guy running ac20 and ecm
Its not the guy running ecm ERLL

Its you
Your belief that there is some kind of proper way to play the game, some sort of rules that make the combat Honorable
Its fake mate, it only exists in your head

The mechlab feature alone provides the answer
Its a place where people can choose a setup they think will give them the biggest chance to win

If you are not trying to win your doing it wrong
If youndersld is failing its not other players fault its yours

This is at its absolute peak in solo que
24 people playing how they think will be the best for this drop or at least trying something out to see if its any good

Shed the imaginary rules , takes mechs you think will work and enjoy the match / fight its not about winning in the end

While I was flipping through the blood and coolant inked pages of the M̨̬̦e̠̝̰̯̼̩̲ch̬̻͔͎̣̹r̦̭ò̝̺n͇̙͓͚̰͙͞o̳̺͓̞̩͉͜m͎̭i̞c̠͇̱̼̭̟͚o͝ͅn̩͓̮͘, the twisted tome of evil and arcane formulae that describes the function of the matchmaker, I stumbled across the following passage:

"Through the infernal science of E̸̘̘̪͈̖L͕͕͓̣̟̰͠O, the p̵i̷t́ile̡ss̵ algorithm that controls the destiny of so many teams, you can be assured that when the wizened husk of the matchm͈̤̖ạ͔͔͍̺k͎e̩r̙ bends it's will towards filling a team with fresh s̳̹̀ó̪͎̻͓̩u̸͓̦̥l̙͍͙̭̗͝s͢ for the g̻̮̠̠͚r͈̗̲͝ḭ̗̦̤̖̼͝nder, every '͏̗̩̞͎m͖͚ę̯̱̖̗̱t͇̟a̲'̨͉̦͓̲͈ͅͅ player shalt be balanced out by at least one 'm̺͉̤͈̹͝e̛͙̦̺̝̞̳̣t͏͓̥̯̺a̷͖͇͎͚' player of similar skill on the other team."

So, though you are complaining of 'meta', there's a good chance that the makeup of your team will include similar numbers of 'meta' players as the enemy. Though ELO and loadout aren't explicitly linked, most players don't achieve their current rating without at least partially bending to the will of popular meta.

The skill and loadout effectiveness of the rest of your hapless teammates is something else entirely - as most battles will likely be decided by the skill levels of the players that first meet and trade death.

Hence:

"Verily, if thou find thyse̸͒̑lͩ͝f̓ͯͦͥ͆ being sm̈́̓ĕ̎ͧ͆͋́̅år͆͛͒̽҉eͮ̕d̓͐ͣͥ into paste in the first exchange of o̢rd̴̰̬̺n̡̲a̬͝n̼̦͞c̮̹e̷̠̳͈, thou shouldst attempt to exercise pa̧͉̺̣͟t̶̨̠̗̦̜̖̞͓͝i̬͈͖̗̹͈̲͔e҉͚͈͍̪̣̜̙n̛͉͈̮̹̰̩̻̠͜c҉̣̠̩͉̲e͏̙̪ when first maneuvering to meet the e̜̥n͇̮̙͢é̼̥m̲̟͟ͅỳ̩̜̠̩̯. D̷̞̞̀eå̳̗̗̝̼t̤̬̼̞̼h̀͐̊ is patient, and cares not who meets him first, yet you should not rush to embrace him"

You somehow forgot to use the word "cyclopean" at least once in your post.
