wasnt there another clan light, I think 20tons, armed with only a single ER-PPC?
I think I read about it in one of the novels, but never found it again...
30 tons, actually
The Pack Hunter's got a lot of the same problems as the Hellion, though. 3059 production date means it's seven years away, and the variants also include a bunch of equipment we don't have yet, as well as being even further away. Also, unfortunately, the Pack Hunter would be butt in MWO due to an
extreme case of hardpoint deficiency in the Prime variant, unable to be remedied by Omni swapping as the Pack Hunter is not an OmniMech. Also no ES
or XL, so it would be both slow and fat.
Real shame - the Pack Hunter is otherwise a popular fan choice and has more personality than a lot of other 'Mechs in TROs.
Anyways. On the Hellion itself:
First of all, LULZ @teh Speed Phreax Clan making something so frickin' slow for its size. At least by MWO standards.
Second of all, that thing would actually be kinda violent. 4M at ~128kph or whatever it ends up as makes for an unpleasant missile cruiser, though ammunition would be as limited as it always is for light SRM cruisers. Its options would consist of SRMs or lasers-and-SRMs, though. Not enough hardpoints for beam spam, not enough weight for heavy energy. Oh well.
Third of all: the Hellion's art kicks the everlovin' hell out of most of the older designs. I
hate 'classic TRO' art. It's butt, a bunch of simplistic garbage consisting of rectangles with a bunch of other rectangles hanging off of it in a vague approximation of a humanoid shape. I get that there wasn't any money for proper artists back in the seventies, but
come on. Busy and Gundam-y is still far and away better than
