Any chance we could get a side-view shot of the Cauldron Born in the mechlab? Would love to see how that thing looks from the side.

And some may be asking who is Lordred?

*insert gratuitous mechporn here*

IMO, not necessarily his best work, but... these ones in particular are pretty decent:

... of course... all of his work is action shots taken in live matches with a noHUD camera mech. He could do so much more with spec tool (somebody give this man spec tool!)

At first I was worried that the Cauldron Born would just end up being a Timber Wolf with Dire Thighs™. But the more I saw of it the more I fell in love. I'll have a hard time deciding which variant to run though; I love the concept art Alex drew up but... that yummy c-bill bonus on the Prime(I).

We got a free camo pattern unlock on all variants... Fractal, IIRC.

Naw he's talking about the EARLY early adopters. Which, got the free camo, as mentioned above. The Early adopters got the 4th variant. Then the Month 1 was the colors/modules etc.

So let me see if I got this right. Someone that purchased the Gladiator pack gets one camo unlock on all variants. Also someone who purchased the Hankyo pack gets one camo unlock on all variants? I mean last I checked most of the time once you unlock a camo and it can be used on other mechs it is there...So in turn the Gladiator pack having 4 mechs gets you one camo unlock and the Hankyo pack having 1 mech gets you one camo unlock. Now last I recall the original February 28th deadline was for a 4th variant for each chassis depending on what pack you bought. So the new reward is no matter what pack you bought you only get one camo pattern? and not one camo per level of the pack? like Hankyo gets one camo unlock and Gladiator gets four camo unlocks? As I look at this it makes little sense and feels as if they screw over those who purchased the Gladiator pack when it comes over to the early adopter reward there.

Nice. Head didn't quite translate from the art, but overall looks pretty killer.

I deliberately chose some of the not-so-good images to show his bad side, which is still leagues above the screenshot skills of whoever they are actually paying to do it. :D

More can be found here: The Perfect Screenshot Thread.

Also of the four you selected: I'm the Highlander, Spider, and Catapult.

It's camo per level of the pack you bought at the time... So, if you bought the Koala pack, you unlock Polygon for all 4 Wave III mechs. Only got the Eb Jag? You get Polygon unlocked for all variants of the mechs you bought. This only applies to those who purchased the package before the ORIGINAL Early adopter deadline. The Early-Early adopters. The deadline was extended after outcry of payday as well as wanting to see the rest of the concept art first, and they threw a bone to those who blindly spent money. Like me :3

And, lest ye ask... here is the official announcement:

Always was.

Oh just shut up.

This is something people wanted and asked for.
A little pomp and fanfare for the releases, like that helped make the Urbs release so enjoyable.

Aside from numerous improvements that have been made, go do this in either your own thread, or existing threads raising issues about the game, rather than trying to drag down something people are looking forward to.

Also - learn to spell and apply grammar properly.
No caps, u instead of You, your education was obviously well spent. :/

Ahem.

I am really looking forward to the Cauldron Born in game, I didn't think we'd actually get it originally due to timeline, but we are.
My only complaint is the Heavy Queue is going to be even higher than normal!
Getting a game in it is going to take a while. :(

spoken liek a true pokemek collecter.. the lemming like behaviour that has enabled pgi to NOT develop the game , just make subpar mechs with zero .. ahem.. zero character. .

also. grammar {Godwin's Law} ? too funny.
also , I dont recall insulting you , yet, you clearly told me to shut up.. tsk tsk..

I'm certainly falling in love with the Cauldron Borne, assuming that it isn't taller than it looks she's going to be much loved by me.

PGI

Can we get the custom geometry on the Executioner?

I know I only bought the CB pack but I'm still curious.

Look at Lyra in my sig. You wouldn't deny a sad pony a look at that geometry, would you?

Cauldron-Born:
The legs and side vents are SUPER huge, really oversized to say the least. The "shell" that the missiles are attached to which rides over the torso is now basically built into it, there's no small crack that differentiates the 2. The torso cone has now been shrunk to compensate for the stupid-huge side vents.

I'm incredibly dissapointed by the difference between the concept art and the in-game model. The Executioner on the other hand looks glorious, and almost undersized for the tonnage. I'm glad to see it. It's too bad that the mech I was very hyped about fell apart during the geometry stage.

huh - i gotta be honest, i MUCH prefer the normal geometry over the special geometry. the special geometry makes it too snubbed-nose and flat, while the normal geometry looks a little more sleek and fighter jet-like

cool-wise i think the 2 designs are reversed

Don't like it.

Sits lower which is a plus, but those super wide arms give serious concern about its ability to hit face huggers.

Not too worried about the Heavy even the legs. Now the Executioner, I would like to know where the head and torso hitboxes are, looks like it might have a big CT and if the Head is the center window, well....

I dunno... Even the Catapult with its GIANT cockpit glass seems very difficult to headshot these days... back when, it was hilariously easy. I'm sure they'll trim it down to where any headshots against it are a complete fluke... As for the torsos... I imagine the face, and the crotch are going to be the issue. By looking at it, I think the mech is going to look like a bowtie standing on end. With a very narrow C torso in the middle, flaring out to the wide head and crotch. If you don't hit face/crotch, you're probably hitting side torso. Just a guess, obviously...
