That was one thing that really stood out with the EBJ so that's a great comparison Navid A1.
Very low profile and very wide with the torso being horizontal more than vertical.
I did wonder how it would compare to the Nova and Stormcrow after seeing the video, seeing as it has 15 tons on the Nova and 10 on the crow.
Might be very tight for space in there, probably similar to the Timbewolf for space seeing as it has Ferro, Endo and the XL.
Nice looking mech.

The Executioner looks big and menacing. Nice comparison with the Banshee.
Just what you want out of an Assault.

If we could only wander about the mechbays in first person and check out the mechs personally I reckon I'd spend a lot more time just checking out the designs.

Thanks for the update Tina. Looking forward to seeing the next ones.

Theoretically someone could export the mechs and make a crysis map where you could walk at ground level and check them out, since they are 1:1 in size in the engine. It would be really cool, except the textures wouldn't look as good up close, but I wouldn't mind.

Oh wow, they're really on the ball with community suggestions these days. Of course being a small dev I can expect this change to come in about two months at minimum, probably around the time the wave III mechs get their stats tweaked.
I know people criticize PGI a lot, but can you imagine back before they were indie, being a game dev and telling your publisher "yeah um this weeks time budget is going towards making this mech sit a bit lower"? That wouldn't have flown back then, considering how even CW was considered low priority by IGP.

Heavy, nice model, smaller than the Timber and Dog so harder to hit. Even if they raise it, I do not see it as a big deal.

Executionaer, BLEARGH! As big as a Dire Wolf, Banshee and probably an Atlas.

Is this just my sick imagination or the Executioner really has a steam engine pipe? Also I humbly request details and an in-game video of MASC at work. I realise it is essentially a sprint button, but still...

It is not a steam pipe, it is a Third Leg. When firing a big AC, the third leg folds down to an angle and extends into the ground for support. Hey, a Mech that top heavy needs it! :P

I really really REALLY hope they don't do this. For once, PGI actually gets a 'Mech model right - and the first thing they do is instantly consider "fixing" it to be in line with all the 'Mechs that are wrong? For realz?

They should just lower the Mad Dog's and (maybe) Timber's stances, and shrink the Nova OVERALL. They could also enlarge the CB overall, although I don't think that's the best option. Regardless, the CB's stance itself is absolutely perfect as it is. Build the other Clan 'Mechs around that, not vice-versa...

Nope, nope nope nope. Keep it how it is in The screenshots. It looks perfect. Other mechs just need to be fixed.

Why break something that works, just so you can keep it in line with other screwed up things?

That said, I'm very happy with how the community has been going with Tina at the CM helm. It's great having a diplomatic voice of reason on the forums, and she seems to be funneling community advice and wishes very well! :)

Don't you DARE make that EJ taller! It is perfection incarnate <3

OMG, I had a hunch they would knock the EJ out of the park, and they certainly did! The mech is flawless. Don't touch a single thing on it... Please!!!

Also... Holy crap the back of both mechs are surprisingly amazing too XD

Does the huge JJ behind the Executioner count as the rear torsi? Cause you can clearly see and shoot it from the front.

And a Stock Match option for Private Matches.

Darthbane is one of these that don't understand how business / the game really works, spouting the same rhetoric over and over based on limited and false knowledge.

If there isn't profit, development of the game won't continue.
Mech sales are how they pay the bills.

Additionally, these people forget (or ignore) that Mech and Game development have different departments working on them.

That said, I'd happily help crowdfund certain things to make it more viable. (I did with the Urbs. :P)

Mainly, a weapons pack.
Maybe have 1-4 mechs in it using the new weapons, but the core of it would be adding the Circa 3052 weapons we're missing.
It'd need to be an IS pack as pretty much all of these are IS only.
Mainly Binary Laser Cannons, Grenade Launchers, Light / Medium / Heavy Rifles, Rocket Launcher 10 / 15 / 20s and Mech Mortar 1 / 2 / 4/ 8s.

LAMS (which are clan only) would be nice too, and if possible some Artillery (Arrow IV and some flavour of Ballistic, be it Long Tom, Sniper, whatever), though I've been told there's technical issues with the engine on those.

Do it as a $20 pack, comes with the mechs and a few of each weapon to fund development of them.
I'd get it.

I hope instead of just being an 'option' so to say it is actually letting you use the mechs you own but they are stock at the time.
I know some people out there who do stock mech monday and got 40 mech bays of mechs that are stock, but personally It would be better if they let you use your mech that turned stock for that private match.

I also want to see a stock based event every month or so. Participating = minor reward, Doing well = larger ones

Make that two new game modes on the way 4 v 4 for CW and a new mode in the works for pub queue.

Plus an overhaul of assault game mode.

Paint me happy

The problem with assault mode is a lot of people do not give a sh*t about objectives.

Objective: Destroy this factory facility?
Destroy these generators?
Capture these points?
Control these areas for X time?

Nope! I will just run around and murder any enemy I see until I die then cry to my team stop winning by caps, shoot someone.
Based on other forums I find the opinions on these static objectives towards non players are...
"Lazy", "Stupid", "no place here", etc, while doing it is usually "Cheese win", "Bad player", [insert rage at said team here] etc.

Which makes me kinda sad. Assault could be played in a simular way noobs play chess.

Some people deffense base, Some people scout, some people engage. etc... Instead it's more effective to be a moving blob of mechs and just attack what ever you fancy.

I would like assault to be improved but it's a hard topic...

This is not a rescale, they are just changing the chicken leg angles. Grasshopper requires scale which is less likely unless Russ has admitted they need to fix it somewhere...

Jumpjet? You mean the small cylindrical jumpjet on its back that is nearly invisible from the front? This picture is just kind of pointing out torso structure...

Part of the thing with the Nova's size is.... They had to fudge the mech a LOT. The Nova isn't supposed to have torso twist. The legs join the torso in literally the same place the arms do.

Would you give up the ability to turn your torso for a smaller mech?

Posted Image

Not saying it can't be made small, with the current geometry.... But it does go to explain what went awry there... Technically, the King Crab is the same way.

Look at the video again, and you will see that the parts I pointed out is indeed parts of the backpack, not the torso. The actual front part of the Executioner's torso is deceptively slim.
