If I've done my math properly... It has 26.5 tons free with stock armor...

Still, yeah... It has about the same free tonnage as a hellbringer. Just bigger, slower, no Ecm, and barely functional jumpjets.

I've build the mech slot by slot in Solaris Skunk Werks. Remember the +1 fixed DHS on the right torso. This mech got 16 DHS stock + MASC, FF and 4 JJ. Taking a bit armor away from the legs end up with 25.5 tons.

Will the Executioner's speed be enough to make it's JJs effective? With 8 tons of JJs I hope it can at least clear some tree branches and smaller bug shells

So much hatred and salt in this thread.

I'm disappointed in the community's overall levels of vitriol.

Welcome to the Internet, Vaskadar.

I'm trying to be optimistic as possible here. I really like this wave's choices for mechs, and the art looks awesome.

Just hoping for something during the countdown to either knock my socks off or convince me to save my pennies. Being stuck in between sucks.

I based mine off the listing for Wave III

on the prime there is:.

12 tons of Gauss
2 tons of gauss ammo
8 tons of erll
3 tons of removable heatsinks
1 ton of MG ammo
.5 ton of MGs

That's 26.5 tons...

Ay.
There's plenty of good here too.

I'm just looking forward to my Stompy Robots.

Cauldron Born used to be my favourite mech of all (now it's the Locust, but the Jaguar is still second)
Even sorta looking forward to the Executioner... and I suck at assaults.

LBX 10/20 + Pulse maybe?
I'm thinking LBX + Pulse.

Pretty sure Clan Machine Guns are . 25 tons... It only has two so it would be .5 tons of machine guns. The extra space may account for more ammo or heatsinks, or the weight for MASC. :)

That's what I said :P it has one ton of ammo to feed those MGs too, though.

Most of the stock builds have armor shaved off. Sometimes there is a lot of armor shaved off. I'm betting that's the case here too.

Yes, that's the reader's digest version I suppose :D I can see me driving the Cheetah and Jag a lot, and I did like Shadow Cats in previous games when I bothered to play a medium.

I haven't gotten the hang of assaults yet, my play style suits lighter mechs the most and my efforts to train myself in the Way of the Fatty has been pretty unsuccessful so far. A few really good matches scattered throughout weeks of pain and suffering as teammates run off and let the assault lance get swarmed.

I agree that the Glad looks like a good candidate for pulse lasers + LB-X. Could be fun if it doesn't steer like a cruise ship.

Gladbag appears like it might have some legit hit boxes.

including a massive cup to protect his Massive balls, that he must have for having JJs as a 95 toner...

dunno, always thought of the Glad as a 95ton Gargy with jets and MASC, it should be very mobile for an assault mech, plus hitting MASC then jump jets should be loads of fun for taking pot shots at long range targets.

They look beautiful, can't wait to slap on a new paint job for the (I) variants... :)

Quoted for truth!

I never understood whos idea it was to punish paying customers and supporters of this game with camo pattern restrictions.

But I am so what excited to finally put actual camo patterns like Polygone, Woodland or CSJ/CGB on a C-Bill bonus mech instead of those annoying race car stripes or often clownish hero paint jobs. Such painfull immersion breakers...

Yet with Wave III I can do some C-Bill grinding with my Invasion variants and look like an actual Warmachine at the same time!

Thank you so much PGI! You finally gave me a reason to buy camo patterns again!

Do we know exactly what MASC will do? I seem to remember a reference to a town hall discussion, but I haven't seen/heard any details. Will be curious to see if it's a boost to top speed (always or relative to your heat scale), or maybe it'll be a boost to acceleration/deceleration when running hot. I doubt it'll help turning, but turning/torso twist rate increase could also fit the fluff of how MASC works. Nevermind, was thinking of triple strength myomer.

Either way I don't know if it'll have enough thrust to be much of a pop tart, or if the jets will just help it with slopes/small ledges. Even that would be useful on some maps, though at a hefty tonnage cost.

It's going to be fast and heavily armored, probably very maneuverable given its engine size, too. In bursts, the EXE will go 95.04 with speed tweak. The only thing is, it won't be able to field a lot of ballistics like the Cauldron Born will. I imagine it will be very laser-dependent, and therefore best used as the central point of a charge. If MASC works the way I think it will, it'll be very risk vs. reward oriented. Leading a charge will be very dependent on support from other mechs.

Let's assume it starts off with negligible amounts of quirks, if any. The only omnipod that I could see using negative quirks would be the 7E arm, otherwise, it's pretty light on the hardpoint count.

On the other hand, I think the Cauldron Born will be an excellent fire support mech. Unlikely to be a brawler due to its shape. Potentially very deadly sniper thanks to its elevated torso ballistic. Possible clan counterpart to the Ilya Muromets.

You sound a lot like me in that regard (I favour the Locust over most all others).

It sounds like going up to the Cauldron Born Level at least may be worth it for you (as for me).

I personally went to the Gladiator because, sod it, it wasn't much more, and it got me a bunch more things, and an Assault I might get along with, and the hardpoints are varied and interesting. (plus its face looks awesome.)

MASC has been stated to work similar to Jump Jets - Fuel Bar for fixed speed boost.

The town hall said the MASC would effectively have a heat gauge all its own. So as you use it, the heat rises, as it hits critical levels, you start taking internal damage to your legs. (this is actually how i suggested it in the suggestion forum :3 So i'm tickled pink) If you get in a pinch, and need to get away, you can push that threshold, which is much better than a fixed limit like JJs IMO.

MASC shouldn't have any effect on Jjs. MASC only acts on the Myomer (muscles) of the mech. And the JJ output is based on the tonnage of the machine. The Koala won't even be able to jump as "well" as a highlander... Unless it gets some quirks

I really hope the prime koala gets a significant fire rate buff to its Gauss... I will buy it if it gets at least 20%
