That's what I said :P it has one ton of ammo to feed those MGs too, though.

Oh Derp, I thought it said 5 tons. Whoops. :)

You sound a lot like me in that regard (I favour the Locust over most all others).

It sounds like going up to the Cauldron Born Level at least may be worth it for you (as for me).

I personally went to the Gladiator because, sod it, it wasn't much more, and it got me a bunch more things, and an Assault I might get along with, and the hardpoints are varied and interesting. (plus its face looks awesome.)

MASC has been stated to work similar to Jump Jets - Fuel Bar for fixed speed boost.

Thanks for the insights and the MASC info. Gives me more to think about.

Funny, though, that the Cauldron-Born is getting an Irish/Welsh Gaelic title but we will forever see the nearly unused Ebon Jaguar name in game.

I really wish I could toggle the nomenclatures in game to match the IS versions.

Yeah, that would be great. Hope they do that at some point, because to me it's super weird to see "Adder" when in my brain I'm all "Oh, a Puma, why's it got the wrong name?", etc. And I forget the Clan names sometimes. So I'm all "The hell's a 'HBR'? What's a 'MDD'?" Till I see the mech itself. Oh, Loki and Vulture.

That, and I personally think most of the IS names are better than the Clan ones (some exceptions apply, Kit Fox is cooler than the IS name which I always forget).

And in the case of the Cauldron Born, as you and others have said, the Clans themselves hardly used the name 'Ebon Jaguar' outside of Clan Smoke Jaguar. >_>

So, a toggle in the options seems the best solution rather than straight-up renaming the Ebon Jaguar/Cauldron Born. That way the fans of the vat-grown can have their stuff, and the rest of us can have the names used in previous MechWarrior games.

That's not quite right... It was said in the town hall, that the MASC would have a heat gauge of its own. When the heat tipped over critical, it would inflict internal damage to your legs, similar to engine overheating. Push the MASC too hard, and you'll blow your legs off. But if you REALLY need to get around that corner FAST, you can push it and get there with minor internal damage, rather than being dead cuz your gauge is empty. :P

Uller, the Norse God of skiing, and other winter related activities.

Oh right, I hardly used lights in older MW games, so that's prolly why I forgot. >_> I like Norse stuff but I guess I forgot Uller. And the Puma was a more annoying light, if memory serves (twin ERPPCs and a really low profile), so maybe hatred helped me remember it. xD

Thanks.

I always liked the Puma/Adder, 2x Clan ER PPC in a light always let it punch above its weight. Cougar was always my favorite clan light mech, though it's a few years away in the lore timeline.

Not much to talk about here yet, but I do see an issue. What will be the head hitbox for Executioner? If it is that big window in place of its nose, than it may very well have a case of the Catapult syndrome  It seems too large to me, so I hope they get this right.

I based mine off the listing for Wave III

on the prime there is:.

12 tons of Gauss
2 tons of gauss ammo
8 tons of erll
3 tons of removable heatsinks
1 ton of MG ammo
.5 ton of MGs

That's 26.5 tons...

And it's missing 1.5 tons of armour.

So I guess dual gauss won't be possible ? At best 2x UAC10 for ballistic heavy build :(

Possible? Yes... At stock armor levels, you'd only have 25 rounds, though :P

UAC10s would fair better, at 6.5 tons ammo... 15 rounds per ton is it? So, 98 rounds feeding both weapons... Maybe take off two tons for a pair of ERML backups. Two ERML do 75% the damage the ACs do...

Actually, 2 UAC10s and 2 ERML sounds like fun...

You could also boat 3 UAC5s, but you'd only have 5.5 tons of ammo, again, at stock armor

You can strip a bit of armour from those legs though.
I reckon you could do 2 + 4T ammo, and optionally 1-2 backup lasers with careful armour placement.

I also knock all of my mechs head armor to 5 points, which frees up just under half a ton. Headshots are so incredibly uncommon. And when it does happen, it's usually with two gauss, which you wouldn't survive anyway. Just gotta be mindful of artillery/airstikes, those will kill you if you walk through them. Either get out of the way, or stand perfectly still so you only take one shell. It's running through them, and taking multiple shells that gets you killed.

My bread an butter is Locusts, done properly, that thing has 1 or 0 head armour.
I know all about that. :P

But yeah, strip armour from the head to even out weight.
You get 15 base HP there regardless, and head hitboxes are so small on 90% of mechs, it doesn't hurt that much.

But, who are we kidding? No matter how many negative quirks, the power is in the 4th Koala. 12 ERMLs and as many heatsinks as will fit. It will actually be managable, unlike the Nova.

That'd be nice...
As to what we get....
Hopefully something to offset the $60 of premium colours we don't get for buying wave 2+3....

I mean, R2 get it (and if you buy just R2, you get up to 36 colours...)

You mean that thing we won't know if they actually need until after they've been played a while to see strengths/weaknesses so it's entirely possible they have none to start and a heavily subject to change as stated in the T&C you agreed to?

What an absurd thing to base a purchasing decision on.
That's like buying the currently most broken mech in the game (whatever it is) and then moaning when it gets balanced!
(Which you knew would happen and is in the terms and conditions you agreed to)

The important thing ultimately, is do you like these mechs, based on aesthetics, weapons and fixed equipment: Y/N.

The guy said that there's been no improvement at all.

There's certainly been lots of improvement in the last 6-12 months. (I'll happily quietly ignore the IGP/PGI days, happy to focus on the PGI alone era as a second chance).
There's communication with the community, there's been performance boosts, CW, new + redone maps, redoing the champions, working on NPE, rebalancing most all mechs to create a far more diverse and interesting experience, the mechlab (took a little dive, is up again imo), and it's all continuing.

Yes, there are problems.
Lots.
Price of MC products, netcode issues, periodic hitreg issues, invisible walls / hitbox problems, optimisation, etc.
And I'll happily call on those in the appropriate place.
But this is a thread to have a little fun about getting our stompy robots we've been waiting for.
Be as bitter, angry, sad, whatever you want, but make your own thread, rather than coming here where it's offtopic, and unwarranted.

They are just more extremely over priced mechs that likely wont improve the game at all.

I will wait until there are new game modes that actually bring new players into this game than just buying more and more mechs. I got plenty and got plenty of cbills to buy the cbill versions which I will do instead.

The only thing I spend money on and I think this is a rip off in a sort as well is the premium time. I hate how it is used even when not in the game.
