Change the layout to expanded, that should fix your problems.

they just need to give mech select (and the store) serious interface revamps. mech select screen wastes a lot of real estate that could be used to display mech info, more mechs, or offer other view modes and filters. at least use up half the screen. theres room for a whole other column of info there.

you could also simplify the whole interface by combining store, mech select, and mech skill trees into one solid interface. all these things are dominated by mech lists that could be replaced with a single list.

Just ask for specific things for them to fix, you know damn well they aren't going to revert it.

Unless you're not using expanded view the new lab is light years better.

please, let us go back to the less worse mechlab.........
Actually, having gotten a little more use to it, I think the current Mech Lab is better.

Still having to learn where to find things, but, it's not all that bad really...

tbh my only gripe is visibility-- font needs to be bumped up a pt. or two

For all the faults of the current mechlab, it's still faster to navigate and better optimized than the old one.

Less comfortable, maybe. It's still objectively better.

except mech select takes longer and looking at quirks/loadouts takes longer... so really you dont save any time.

plus the mechlab actually takes longer for people who cant use 1600x900 resolution

Mechlab 3.0 was two steps forward and one step back. which is better than mechlab 2.0 because that was one step forward and two steps back.

Meh, I don't see it that way, it's easy for me to find the mech I want. I know the alternate methods of finding which 'mech has which module I want and I'm done.

Of course I've been playing since this went GOLD and my habit of rarely selling anything allows me a semi easy means of updating 'mechs without the eternal "where is my 300XL engine, where's my ER PPCs, where's my gauss" hunt that so many of you guys suffer through.

That and a policy of never allowing my bank to get too far below 100 million CB, before I knuckle down and farm monies...

Of course the mech labs have always made this component 'sharing' methodology painful for the express reason it encourages people to spend their CB horde which could result in an incentive to spend REAL money to purchase more cash.

You can't make it TOO EASY, and kill off that potential revenue stream...

But how do you compare quirks between two mechs? That most definitely is not easier.

You must be doing something wrong if it takes longer. I guess if I read every word and forgot the layout every time I went to the mechlab, the old one would be easier.

I should have elaborated on optimization. New mechlab runs a lot faster. The screen res issue is really bad.

Dimento also brings up a good point. PGI may just be purposely inconveniencing us so that switching equipment will never be too easy.

Comparing quirks was never easy. I wish MWO had a compare option where it leaves a mech stats tab open while looking at others (as many other games have a similar feature for equipment viewing.) For now I just use Smurfy. I agree it should be easier though. They should list quirks when hovering mech select.

If you can use the expanded layout, then you no longer have to click between limbs, you have a much more informative full preview of your entire 'mech so you no longer have to keep switching between the Mech Details screen, the warehouse is easier to navigate and requires far less if any scrolling, also owned search function, etc etc.

Purely from modifying your 'mechs, the layout is lightyears further than what we had.

Things like checking quirks relate to the 'mech select screen, and obviously that's going to need work, but that has nothing to do with the mech lab. If anything the 'mech lab actually does show you the quirks and places relevant quirks onto the weapon stats, so the new lab even does that far better.
