Google word "incentive"...

Then apply it to something you already bought.... Yeap, doesn't work. The pre-orders are incentives, this more along the lines of added "recognition / reward". ;)

Hoo boy. It's been a while since I came across someone so determined to demonstrate their ignorance.

Let's decode PGI's offer one line at a time.

PGI are offering a badge and some medallions "...for anyone who owns the Clan Invasion Wave 1 Masakari Collection, Invasion Wave 2 Man-O-War Collection, and Invasion Wave 3 Gladiator Collection before July 21st".

Note the forward date: July 21. Note also that these three packs continue to be available for purchase before that date.

Note that the headline over the promotional picture is "COMPLETE THE CLAN TRILOGY TO GET UNIQUE REWARDS".

So:

PGI are inviting people to "complete" ie "buy the ones you don't have" in order "to get unique rewards".

That's called an incentive.

Did I explain that slowly enough for you?

It's okay sweetie, I gotcha, where is your 60k Grocery bill? I mean should I point out your continued lacked of credibility. Sorry, but I got better things to do then argue in 2 threads with the same 60k Grocery bill guy who's wife actually does all the finances......

I appreciate the gift, as I already own every pack, including all 3 Clan Wave packs... but it doesn't look like anything really.

My suggestions:
- Free Clan-Faction camo unlocks for all Wave 1 + 2 +3 mechs if you own all 3 packs. Owning Wave1 without the Faction camos is kinda strange, as we got them for wave2.
Wave2 got faction camos and polygon as bonus, if I remember correctly.

- a secon Set of faction colors, like the Resistance2 bonus colors.

Together these two would make a fine addition for everyone who did not buy the camos/colors with MC already.
So to even give these people a "loyalty reward", how about a Loyalty skin mech variant ?

Choose one mech of each pack that is not a prime variant (because using I variants already have the 30% bonus) and make it a Loyalty variant with a custom skin.
Comming up with that might be very difficult.

The best choice however would be a seperate new Mech like the Mad Dog got added as the Wave1+2 Bonus.
Well,... Kodiak? :)

Then says he has better things to do to prevent further risk of being shown up as ignorant.

Yes, Creovex, you do have better things to do. Item number one is: clue up and stop trying to prevent PGI's customers from giving them polite, rational and reasoned feedback on their marketing incentives.

I didn't report your thread. Why would I do that? The more you post, the more foolish you appear. I don't think anyone should deny you the right to make an ass of yourself, given your obvious commitment to that endeavour.

So please, do start more threads in which you make crazy unsubstantiated assertions, try to draw illogical analogies, theorise that people are your garbageman, and demand that others provide you with their grocery bills ... just so you can justify your right to stop PGI's customers providing them with customer feedback.

So for spending hundred and hundreds of dollars you can get some free easy to create badges" By golly that seems like a great reward!
Seriously...
It's good for a laugh or two I guess.

Well I do not think that people will buy all three packs just to get an "easy to create badge". I think it is more an incentive for players that allready payed for some of the bigger packages to spend just some more €/$ to complete their collection and get not only the "easy to create badge" but also those 5% LP bonus medallions! These are time savers and therefore interessting for players who do not have much freetime but some expandable €/$.

And of course it is a nice gift to those players who allready purchased all three packages an keep the game running and developing.

I appreciate the fact PGI is recognizing their financial backing fan base. It is truly a step in the right direction and shows that they are thinking of the people who are making their dreams happen, job stay secure and current lifestyles capable.

I will flat out say I am not at all impressed with this move.

I am not the person that will typically ask what is in it for me! If anything, I am the person that asks what I can do for you? PGI, I must ask are you truly promoting your backers by this move or is this more about the money and tricking people into buying these expensive packages? Are these gifts truly all you think of your loyal fans, players, and backers (A new banner and some crummy cockpit items I could buy with my credit card). I mean I now have two of the same atlas, crab and centurions, which was the best PR gesture PGI has done to date.

I will honestly admit I have purchase PGI’s top Tier packages for each release and I am not here to brag about it either. I want to support my favorite game and franchise. I want to see it become something grand. I completely understand that to do this the client needs to be financially backed. Though this P.R. is truly an afterthought at best.

I mean to spend $740.00 on these three packages and receive this P.R. move as a reward is a joke. Do not get me wrong I am glad I bought the packages and I am not complaining about the packages either. However, for PGI to recognize all the backers by giving out some crummy banners and 5 hanging cockpit items, which anybody with a credit card can buy without purchasing the top tiers is really a low ball move.

My mind would be blown to see that there are people willing to jump ship on buying all three top tier packages strictly to gain this promotion. Honestly, if I had a chance to do it all over again, I would still have bought these packages, because they were good products, but not one day would I consider buying them for this added junk….

Please rethink your marketing campaign, this was not a good decision at the least. This just reminds me of the old day decisions PGI/IPG use to make. PGI you lost so many potential backing members. I just don’t want to look at these packages I supported and see how little their purchase was appreciated, especially when I thought they were worth so much more. Again, I am not asking for more, but I would rather receive nothing than this pathetic gesture.

I understand some of you will disagree, and that is fine by me. I being a backer of MWO thought a lot higher of PGI and say they are the underdog and going to work out of it. I am just displeased with the situation and this move. I do not want anyone to lose their gifts on my behalf I just want my client to know what I am thinking.

nice idea but not enough to get me to spend the extra £20 to upgrade, I have not enjoyed playing any Clan assaults (and as a rule do not really enjoy assaults at all, although there are a few which are not too bad) and I have not even basiced my Dire Wolf prime yet, I just do not usualy enjoy playing assaults and usualy get the most enjoyment out of the Lights and Mediums so unless something really interesting shows up (e.g. the Kodiac Battlemech) I will usualy be stopping at the Heavy level of preorders from now on.
I have nothing against PGI and will keep supporting this game which I enjoy I just cannot justify paying for a Mech I know I am unlikely to enjoy playing

tl,dr.
I bought the Nova package, Gladiator and Executioner packages.
If I upgrade my wave I to Masakari now, this will earn myself this badge and the four medaillons "only", WITHOUT the Mad Dog, since this offer expired last year, quiaff?

Pretty sure you still get the Mad Dog if you buy Wave 1 & Wave 2 top tier. Email support to confirm, however I don't see where this was cancelled.

I see nothing that it is still not valid and active. I would guess with 95% certainty that if you upgrade you will get a Mad Dog set as well. I would confirm as suggested with support though... Still looks valid to me though

So... badge, title and 4(almost useless) loyalty medallions for 3 top tier packs... generously.
I am sorry that do not share the joy, but personally I would prefer a mechs with unique skin (something like Norns: centurion, atlas, king crab) and c-bill bonus. One mech from each pack for each top tier pack. For example: Nova D for Masakari, Hellbringer F for Man-o-war and Executioner C for Gladiator.
Thus it would be possible to reward all top tier clan-pack holders and with more sufficient rewards.

... you get the Invasion skin on your mechs ... are you talking about the mechs that got unique geometry as well? The Invasion variants get that too.

Typical freebirth, always asking for more freebies. :D

To be fair... All assault mechs suck until you elite them :P Disliking one before you basic it is like hating a food because it's gross uncooked :P

I haven't bought a single clan pack, but here's a few ideas to make trilogy awards a little more enticing:
1) Modules - Incentivize the player with less grind, a number of modules (4? 6?) that the player may choose from
2) Consumables - Let purchasers select from MASSIVE bundles (100x+ UAV, 100x+ Arty, 100x+ Airstrike) a number of times (4? 6?)
3) Warhorns - Probably the most sought cockpit items, open all original and clan 'horns and allow a number to be selected
4) Camo/colors - We all like color options. Allow one camo spec. to be applied to ALL these package mechs (like Phranken, as an example) and allow the players to select 3 premium colors for unlock.

To me these seem like good and generous rewards that are already in the game. The only work required would be creating a space under the user profile where the user would claim their rewards, and even this has been done a little with prior medallion and faction selection pages.
