I Get That The Cauldron Born Is Expected To Be Our New Meta-Overlord, But Seriously No Excitement Over The Executioner?

Right shield arm pretty cool.
MASC looks like it my be the deal breaker...in favor of the Fat Gargles.
But Doze Low Weapon Mounts...Dat Worm Burning...
I wish PGI would stop mounting weapons on the UNDER side of the arms...pretty useless.
I dont care how the original art looked for BT, shooting hills and shrubs when you are aiming at an opponent's face is just flat Sh*tty.
Time will tell. MASC may make the poke strong with this one.

Watch it buddy, the exhaust on my Accord looks MUCH better than the ACs in this game!
Myself, I think the Exec will be a blast, load up with cSPL and chase down Lights! Sneak around behind the enemy Assaults and let er rip with 7 cSPL and haul ass out before they can turn around, or better yet, jump ove..er..right..hoverjets, so haul ass out before they can turn around.
It's all guesswork until we get it ingame, remember that folks. How many times have people declared a Mech DoA before we got it due to how it looks, it's possible loadouts and so on, and how many times have they been right? Not once so far, so...
Was in a drop with Alex Gardener last night, he teased us a little bit, said he can't wait til we get to use MASC, we'll love it...teasing bastiche....
Yes and no....unless MASC or a Quirk allows it to ignore it's Terrain Profile which will be HUGE, all a light or 48 kph Assault has to do...is go up an incline...and the Vaunted 90 kph MASC will mean a whole lot of nothing. Don't you remember King Crabs out racing the Gargles when they were introduced, up hills?

But for real, I think the memory of the Gargoyle is still fresh to everyone who last saw an Assault that tried to value speed over firepower. The actual locations of hardpoints don't look much better on the executioner, and it's now revealed it's the size of the banshee. I think the lack of excitement for it may be because nobody's getting it, and it may be that nobody's getting it because nobody wants to pay $120 / $30 (if CB buyer) on a random gamble.
Personally I'm excited about it, but not getting it for the exact reason above. I will up my package to it if it ends up being neat and fun watching other people play it in practice rather than theory.
Well, everyone should have known it would be the size of a Banshee..... they are the same weight, in lore they are 2 of the absolute tallest mechs (the Executioner WAS, at leas in the 3050 era, the tallest) and even for those not familiar with lore, every single Thread about them had a dozen references to that.
So anyone who didn't expect it to be super tall really wasn't paying attention.

I expect Gyrok to be proclaiming it underpowered compared to the Thunderbolt shortly.

You just had to rub salt in that wound didn't you? I love my King Crab, even now that it's movement profile has been fixed, but I REALLY loved the original movement on it, you evil bastiche you!
After seeing the MASC demo and how it works, chasing down Lights isn't in the cards, but woe unto the Light that tries to solo an Exec! It'll make for some interesting builds with how MASC works, really can't wait.

Funny how this IS pilot has more faith in the Executioner than most vatspawns do....

I'm just waiting for my appointed time in Elo Hell to end so I can start actually enjoying grinding my ZEU-5S......

Dire Wolf is huge movement archtype, and 2x JJs has alleviated most incline / uneven ground terrain issues for me.
YMMV, but with that many JJs and MASC, I don't think the EXE will have any issues.

Admittedly it's not really sprinting so much as it is afterburning, but still. I anticipate the Executioner is going to be an ugly city fighter, what with those crazy accel/decel bonuses and the turnspeed boost it gets letting it do the hit-and-fade thing around abundant cover better than anything its size has any right to. M.A.S.C. won't be as useful on big open terrain, no, but the system looks flexible enough, and potent enough, that people will be finding uniquely awesome uses for it.
I mean come on. Assault 'Mechs on the outer wall on HPG. No longer will pesky Spiders be able to claim sole dominion of those sniper hides...though frankly I'm not sure putting a tall-as-hell Executioner up there is a good idea, long term. Make for one hell of an opening surprise volley, though.

I've actually just completed the Basics in my ZEU's, really enjoying them. Right now I'm running 9S with 3 ERL, TAG and LRM15A, good solid long range killer. Actually enjoyed all the Resistance Mechs except the Grasshopper, just really not getting into that one, which is funny, I loved it in TT. Figure I'll have my Master in 3 of my ZEU's before Tuesday, so I can focus on the Exec and CB.

kitty pryde is going to have ~16 tons podspace with maxed armor (basically like adder which has 15.8), cute fox has 14.5
same speed
both have ecm
cat is going to be larger than fox (which is already too large btw), medium vs light after all
cat is 15 tons heavier so it's a bit more tough... but don't forget its size
so i personally don't see much to be excited about shadow cat, well its ecm is harder to lose, also it has more torso weapon slots... albeit probably no such amazing ballistic slot like fox's right ear
Shadow Cat having MASC means it can push the speed envelope unlike the Kit Fox. And has jump jets integrated into the base chassis. So, actually, it's much more mobile than the Kit Fox.
As for size, it will be bigger but right now nobody really knows what the dimensions will be. Or has the in-game model been shown before?

9S is the only one I really just don't feel. Love my 6S and 6T....and see no reason I won't love the 5S too. Nice to have a few options when I am not running Mediums.
