Without arm armor and leg armor reduced to 41 each, the summoner gets 50 rounds of gauss ammo, which my jager gets as well. Coupled with the reduced XL vulnerability and way higher speed than the jager, it's not that bad of a mech.

And you're gonna be peeking, so leg armor shouldn't matter too much

Then imagine if the jj were removable. What I'm trying to say is that if that happened, we'd essentially look at a clan version of the gauss jager.

With weak legs, lacking ammo and no shields to speak of.

60 is the number you want for ammo.

bad mech... never will understand shield arms with no armor to actually be useful shields for any length of time.

then you don't know how to use this chassis, since it's hitboxes/durability are one of it's major strengths.

Yeah, seriously. 41 leg armor, no arm armour? You'd die as soon as someone closed with you.

A dual gauss IS mech will donit with armour, ammo, AND secondary/backup weapons.

You need shield arms to catch fire, because any through-armour hits to your side torsos are going to pop those gauss rifles.

And a build that's only "good" when you're ignored/unnoticed/not attacked is in no way a good build at all.

Most frustrating thing for me? The hitbox/durability and agility of the Summoner are DELICIOUS. It's soooo close to being legitimately good. But all anyone wants to suggest are retread ideas to shoehorn it into the existing tired Metabox.

The Summoner is soooo dang close to being the mobile/flanker/skirmishers dream. So close.

Arm armor and quirks for the weapons it's meant to carry. Hell, it's one of those mechs that could use ammo quirks as well......

Like say the prime variant

300% ammo quirk for LRM15 and LB10

40% rof for LB10

50% rof for ERPPC, and heat quirk for it to compensate

I'd kill for that.

so basically use Quirks to give it "free tons".

Why not just give it free tons by unlocking Endo, instead? All ammo quirks are are making magic tons of ammo, and heat gen, free DHS, essentially.

Because endo would pretty much fix it and then we'd miss out on an overquirked summonerocolypse.

main probs for me with the thor are the combination of a sluggish torso with really zippy arms and those legs man... big ole burtha legs... thinking of re-buying 1 tho.

It's bad (relatively) and I know it's bad, but like a drug, I can't stop.

It has kinda lack luster hardpoints, unless your using missles only then the hardpoints are great.

I also Love the Summoner, but I prefer it with Gauss and an ERPPC.

Given the current quirks the biggest issue currently is tonnage imho. So if they could just allow it to upgrade to Endo that would go a long way to help the mech. I'd also like to see a 2nd missle spot in the LT and the variant with the LT laser would be nice. Additional armor quirks for the arms would be very nice as well.
