Cheating Report Button

This might not have been practical before, but now that MechWarrior Online is setting up a help desk to handle customer concerns, PGI should consider making their job easier with an in game report button for players.

A report button at the end of a match could be used to create a database for the help desk that lists the details of the match in one easily readable format. It could also compile data on the most frequently reported accounts, which would allow the help desk to prioritize their investigations and take action as necessary. This should make the help desk more efficient at removing problems from the game.

Players would also have the satisfaction of knowing that their concerns are being noted immediately after each match.

I've seen this idea archived elsewhere, but with continued concerns about players new and old coming to the game with 3rd party software and ruining our enjoyment of the game, it seemed worth revisiting.

An excellent idea if they also track the behavior of the people pushing said button... so that they can start to ignore them when they are wrong. I suspect many people will use it as a grieving button with so many false positives that the function may become an administrative chore rather than a tool.

It's worth a shot. It's such a chore to make a report as it is right now.
- Noting time of day, map, offenders mech and name, etc
- Finding the screenshots and uploading to Photobucket, link the screenshots in the report.

It takes up nearly as much time as playing a match.

Perhaps a middle ground then; instead of a button click that could potentially be abused as a knee jerk response to getting rofl-stomped or the painfully long time to fill out a report under the current model, how about each match comes with a match number? You still have to take the time to email PGI but now now all you have to do is state your concern and list off the match number. PGI looks up the match and makes their judgement from there.

Disclaimer: I know jack **** about the technical aspect of all this (just turning my computer on is black magic to me) so I have no idea if this would be a feasible method. But something that removes the temptation of quick revenge while avoiding being a chore is the ideal scenario in my mind

Also, I remember seeing this match number suggestion elsewhere either in another thread or talked about on teamspeak one day.

An in game button has some advantages. It effectively creates polling data on cheating in all matches.

Analysis of the data would show which accounts are believed to be cheating. Frequent reporters might carry less weight and isolated reports of software hacks could probably be disregarded.

A feature like this would indicate to me that PGI is making an active effort to curb the problem, rather than a passive one.
