Any of you in the same spot? Some were saying it will be crap, but it looks to be quite effective.

It will beat the pants off the Glarg, that's pretty much a scientific fact.

Yeah, this is usually my approach: Drop $30 on reveal to get the preorder bonuses (which are basically worth the $30), then upgrade over time. Keeps the wallet impact spread out, reduces risk, etc.
In this case, I started with the Cauldron Born though, because obviously.
Just upgraded to Executioner after seeing the MASC reveal.
The Executioner won't be bad, but it will be limited. Very limited pod space, but fast and well armored. Awesome mech for peeking and poking, and a very good close range brawler with MASC accelerated turning/acceleration, good cooling, and crazy fast twist and turn.

The Gargoyle is pretty decent, I think it's pretty underestimated, but with that being said it IS basically an 80-ton Timberwolf with worse hitboxes and less pod space. I hope that they give it some better quirks one day, if they do so it should balance things out.
As for the Executioner, I also felt iffy about it when I was pre-ordering my pack. I decided to splurge because I realized that the mech will be pretty fantastic after some time spent theorycrafting. It will be capable of running guass+MPLs for days, ERLL, LPL, UAC/20+2ERLL+a billion small lasers, etc. Going to be fantastic to play, mostly because of the variety that this single mech chassis represents.

There is literally only one way you'll get burned on the Cheetah, and that's if its size and hitboxes are made terrible.
Barring that, it's instantly the #1 or #2 light in the game.

If it DOES have the Timberwolf/Stormcrows laser nerfs, it'll be a viable competitor.
That's a reason why I'm holding before calling it best heavy.
An other reason will also be how it performs on the field.
Let's also keep in mind the timby is still a tankier heavy by nearly 100pts of armor.

Im only at the Hankyu now but will upgrade at leisure. Wave 2 looke 'meh' so i didnt bother.
Wave 3 is looking good. Had to get Arctic God Cheeter.
Scat is looking good as well because im a Cicada pilot.
Dont hit me, but, i could care less about Cauldron Born. Looked stoopid in BT, looks better in MWO. I hope it doesnt suffer from the Nova-Syndrome. High hardpoints sell it for me.
Fat Gargles looks like he may be good for Wub-N-Run, range poke, or Gauss+lazor. Perhaps even SRM drive byes? Honestly more intrigued since the MASC vids and the rescinded DOA label.

1. An extra 30s days premium time so the over all cost is lower for the upgrade.
2. Future rewards for having a top tier pack.
3. The Executioner will have a bit more tonnage than a TW if you count that extra heat sink and tonnage from armor that can be shaved. This will let it use the old TW loadouts that works so well like 2 LPLs and 3-5 medium lasers. And probably without the heat penalty nerf.
4. In solo and group play where tonnage does not matter the combination of speed, agility and fire power will work well.
5. It has more armor than the TW but still enough speed to stay with groups in solo and group play.
6. Its just going to be a lot of fun.

It will be the heaviest Assault I own, only have Awesomes and Zeus, plus I get MASC and it will be a Clan Mech.

It's objectively not tankier.
The Cauldron Born has a VASTLY smaller profile, allowing it to spread damage easier and get hit less. It's arms are much higher relative to the fuselage, and will be able to block a lot more shots to the side. The Timberwolf has 8 pts more CT armor, 4-6 points more to each ST. That's trivial. Being physically smaller is a far larger advantage than 8 points of armor.
For performance? 1 ton more pod space. Better hardpoints. Higher arms (relative to the cockpit, which is the key). Smaller profile. Skyhook shoulder mounts, that have a smaller profile than Timberwolf ears.
Unless it's severely hampered with negative quirks, it's simply better than the Timberwolf.
Edit: Or has horrifically gimped hitboxes; but that's unlikely.

However, seeing how fast it could get in and out of the citadel passage in that video... wow.
MASC looks like it'll actually be worth the tonnage.
Even so, it'll still be more of a niche mech than a generalist - good at specific things, but not really flexible. I feel a lot bettter about it now, enough so that I upgraded. I really didn't expect to do that.

You have to play the Gargoyle like the Honeybadger IIC.
People are going to play the Sexecutioner like it's a Clan Highlander or Wubshee and ***** about how it's bad.
